Am hearing Rangers were close on this & potentially a deal with RHP Alexis Diaz, as well, but have not independently confirmed. https://t.co/UjriOmbhm3

In addition to signing catcher Danny Jansen to a two-year, $14.5 million contract, the Texas Rangers are also in agreement on one-year contracts with right-handed reliever Alexis Daz and left-hander Tyler Alexander, sources tell ESPN.

So we cut Jonah Heim, only to sign...Jonah Heim. Same age, same salary, same offensive numbers. Maybe I'm missing some nuance, but guessing there were some clubhouse issues. Jonah looked like he'd rather be somewhere else at times.

Stats are very similar. Jansen better defensively?

Elite pitch blocker. Average catcher. Not a starter. This is what we were talking about. Starting catchers who can play offense and defense don't grow on trees. Bottom line is they were tired of Heim.

I feel like at this point, Moore is a complete bust. Has shown nothing so far that indicates he will every play a Major League game, let alone hold hold down a spot longer than Justin Foscue
