Ohtani & Pudge comparison, TexAgs never ceases to amaze me.

If we want to discuss the top statistical players in baseball history we can do that too, but that pretty much means that we can only discuss retired players who have their full body of stats accumulated.

But if we want to include talking about active players we have to be ok with not worrying about their current counting stats.

Ohtani will likely finish with north of 400 homers and 500 is attainable with good health. He's got a good shot at 100 wins considering he plays for the Dodgers and could rack up 15 a year fairly easily if he pitches well.

If he wanted to, he could get to 400 steals. The 400/400 club consists of only Barry Bonds.

He went 50/50 last year because stealing bases became a fun hobby for him suddenly and he just decided to make it happen.

If he wanted to he could focus only on pitching and win a Cy Young award. You dismiss him finishing 4th one year, but I don't recall any other MVP level hitters EVER finishing 4th before. Also a 6.1 WAR season on the mound is insanely good and is good enough to win the CY some years.

If he wanted to, he could probably forsake some average and try to hit 70 homers in a year.

The thing with Ohtani is that he can do everything you want a ball player to do, and he is elite at it all.

Pujols wasn't stealing you a base or legging out 9 triples per year

Bonds wasn't going to throw a guy out from deep left

Cabrera could barely play 1st base competently let alone a value adding position.

Maddux wasn't going to bat lead off and go 3 for 3 with 3 bombs while pitching 6 shut out innings.

There's just no real comparison to him for how you place him among the all time great, and that makes it hard not to think of him as possibly the best ever.

Just think about this, his best pitching WAR year is a 6.1 and his best batting WAR is a 9.2, that means if he could put that all together in one season he could produce a 15 plus WAR year.

Look at that list, 14.1 by the Babe is the current best ever and I think Shohei will eventually have a year where he eclipses that and that's despite WAR penalizing him for being a DH.

Just re-read Schumaker's comments on figuring out the offense. I still can't believe we finished 1st in ERA for the MLB, although we were only 13th in Quality Starts.

It was just a handful of the more expensive lower level sections, rest of the ballpark will go on sale via the lottery.

And part of the problem is Rangers ticket office too lazy to do unique passwords or make access only via the account (like playoff pre-sales) - so the sth presale was open to anyone who had the generic password.

It was completely sold out around 2pm.

We will open up a limited amount of inventory tomorrow morning at 10am

Their CB payroll for 2026 is currently projected at $313M and they are the favorites to add Tucker in the offseason.

I don't…hate those guys. But their fans are probably thinking if fandom is really worth it. I felt like that after 2011.

I'll say this. I want the Dodgers to sweep the Jays. Cannot stand Toronto and their goon fans. I'll never forget what happened there in 2015. But the Jays are gonna be a tough out, especially with home field advantage. Could see this being a 1990-like World Series where the home team is a giant underdog and gets momentum quick at home and goes on to surprise everyone.

Springer's home run was uncomfortably similar to Bautista's 10 years ago. Same swing, same location, same deafening crowd reaction.

Baseball playoffs are crazy. You can be cruising, 8 outs away from your first World Series... Just scattered singles all game long. Then a walk, a single and a big swing and suddenly 25 minutes later your 174 game season is over.

I will be pulling for the Dodgers so that Kersh gets another ring before he rides off into the sunset.

Definitely pulling for the Dodgers. Want nothing but heartache for Toronto.

Hey, last update I saw on Gallo he was working on making a comeback as a pitcher. So lets not rule this out too soon . Maybe he will be hitting bombs and striking out batters in the World Series next year.

Sounds like it was his decision, not the Rangers.

Good for Maddux. He's been a nomad all of his life. Thankful for the 2 different runs we had with him.

Very odd that he'd want to go work with a first time manager in a dumpster fire org with no AC in their weight room (look it up). Maybe it's a family decision but I can't see it on paper.

I would take a salary cut to avoid that job, but who knows what his priorities are. Angels feel more like a consequence than a destination
