Time for McLaren to tell Oscar he's playing defense for Lando. He should absolutely close off Russell at the start and then hold the pack up for a few seconds to let Lando build a gap.

This is exactly the right move for McLaren! Only way Oscar wins the title is if Max and Lando take each other out of the race.
I'm really glad this season ended with some drama building up into the last race. How cool that there's legitimately three title contenders and two are on the same team.
Me personally, I don't see Oscar playing defense for Lando...he doesn't seem the type, despite what Zak may do.

The only way I do not see Lando claiming the title is if the car or the team let him down.
His history of losing position on Lap 1 will make the opening lap(s) tomorrow very interesting to watch.
If McLaren have any sense at all, they will tell Oscar to back off him, not fight and let him build a gap. That's the right call.
My money is on a boring race tomorrow. Max will be allowed to run away with it and there won't be any real racing between Norris and Piastri.
My thoughts as well. If there is no drama in turn 1, lando takes P2 to get it.
Nothing better than a final race with one or both championships still up in the air.

If it wasn't for the Vegas disaster it would have been a smooth 1-2 for the good guys. Happy for Lando and can't wait for the entirely new cars next year

Still stunned that Oscar didn't win this championship easily with the way he looked so dominant for most of the season. This was a very entertaining season, and I'm very much looking forward to the new regs and new teams next season. Maybe Ferrari will finally get their act together.

So happy for Lando! One of my favorite drivers. I still remember that last lap in Austria when he was gunning for his first podium in F1 and how elated he was when he got it.
Happy for Lando as well. Made for a fun season after it looked like Oscar was going to run away with it. Looking forward to the new cars, teams, and regs.

He may be a bit disappointed, but he fell so far behind in the summer that he was basically on a freeroll at the end to win #5, especially after the Vegas double DQ.
If any one should be upset it should be Piastri, given that he basically let the title slip away to his teammate, and given that McLaren also won the team title, he may be the only one in the garage that feels a bit frustrated with how the season turned out.

Max strikes me as one of those competitors that is set apart in how they look for any little thing for motivation.
It reminds me of Jordan in The Last Dance talking about how he could take any perceived slight and turn it into the mental fuel he needed to outperform someone else.
