That was an eventful F1 race lmao. When Lando DNFd the crowd started cheering. And when the camera moved to Leclerc everyone just started laughing lol. There was rain like 20-30 min after but most of the race was clear.
I did the academy grid walk on Sunday again and just took photos of most of the unique liveries. The races here were very good and the crowd showing up was great, I've been talking to the Hello Sunshine filming crew people since Miami and they said the reception in Canada was already bigger than prior weekends so Netflix definitely helped them out. Helps that there were 3 dutch drivers, both the full timers won the races with Nina Gademan basically being not cleared out to race on friday afternoon but then getting cleared for quali and race 1 and getting the win at her home race.
To go to the grid I had to go through the pitlane route and saw the F1 drivers parking lot and managed to see Oscar when he arrived, but he got out of the car and already a bunch of photo and video camera people circled him to follow him all the way to the gate. On the back as I was exiting I took a video of a car that nearly ran over my feet as I was on the other side of the fence and then saw that driver was Kimi lol.
Saw Susie and asked her when the calendar for 2026 was going to be released and then she just tells me all of it on the spot lol, I am VERY happy about it especially as it appears I won't have to travel far next year.
I will say, my logistics here were good UNTIL yesterday. I waited it out until 7 pm and it still took close to an hour to get to the train station, whereas on Saturday at 8 pm it took maybe 5 minutes. They have trains every 5 minutes but they can only do 10k an hour or something like that and I'm assuming a daily number of 100,000 attendees....will probably be worse this coming weekend.
At the airport and now headed to Milan.
