Seager has been thrown out there in talks about being traded so far. All of this strictly from a "that could be interesting" pov more than anything, but still something.

I think people that only read headlines are seeing Semien traded, Garcia and Heim non-tendered, and "lower payroll" and think we aren't trying to be competitive or are gutting them team.

Evan Grant just posted an article that seems the say there might be some meat to these rumors. Not that the team is looking to trade Seager...just the they're not ruling anything out at the moment. Maybe Evan's just filling space b/c there's nothing else of substance to talk about at the moment.

- If they were going to trade him, it has to be this year before his 10/5 rights hit after the season where he can veto any trade.
- His AAV is pretty reasonable compared to today's market, so the Rangers wouldn't need to eat any salary as part of a deal.
- Rangers would need major-league ready talent in return.

Watched the Stars and Mavericks win it all too, but I really have never followed either closely.

That's quite a statement. I'm from Dallas but an Eagles fan and the two Super Bowl wins are way up there with Mavericks and Rangers

I was in HS for the 90's SBs. And just figured the Cowboys would be regularly in the SB and competing for them. I never figured I'd see a Rangers WS so it was a shock and totally more satisfying than the SBs I've witnessed. But I think if I were to see a Cowboys championship again, it would be pretty satisfying too.

I think the Rangers WS means a lot because of the heartbreak that we all went through in 2011, then it completely falling apart, and then it just kinda miraculously happening sort of out of nowhere.
I personally think the Rangers are playing coy this offseason and will still make a splash. I predict we will be around $210million payroll.

Saw a note somewhere that other execs think the Rangers are sandbagging with the lower payroll talk.
Would make sense. You've got Evoldi and DeGrom for two more years. Also apparently we were over the tax from what I've read.
