People like you are who give talarico a chance...What will you think of your ethics if that freak show wins? We don't have the luxury of ethics when it's a zero sum game and the other side wants you dead.

Well I have my faith to rest on. As well as many reasons for not being able to vote for Paxton. The below picture being one of them. When one of our communities parents brought something up to him with regards to school choice and how 98% of Texas private schools don't accept kids with Down syndrome, he laughed and said "well you can't please everybody" to their face, I was done.

Okay, let's not act as if criticism of Paxton is because Republicans are held to some super high moral standards.

I don't really care that Paxton cheated on his wife, paid off his mistress or lied in real estate dealings. Trump did all that and I still voted for him.

My problem with Paxton is he's vulnerable in the general in a way Cornyn just wasn't. Kick and scream about this all you want, EVERY prediction market and political poll supports this. And even if he wins he may hurt republicans down ballot.

And that risk might be worth it if he was some amazing candidate, but he's not. You can count the number of votes in congress where he would have differed from Cornyn on one hand, and he's a much bigger piece of *****

LOL @ anyone who believes in polls. How have those worked out in the last 10 years?

State level polling in red states is historically very accurate.

Not really.. bro, it depends who is doing the polls. Doesn't matter where the poll is, it's WHO is doing the polls. If you don't understand that then you probably don't understand polls

Great looking kid, but Paxton is right about school choice!

Your son deserves the best. Letting Texan parents pick where there money goes won't stop you from doing the same!

Not that AG has anything to do with school choice, but sorry he dismissed you. That's not cool.

Understand your feeling BUT would encourage you to vote for the R candidate nevertheless.

It's where we are in this country now, unfortunately, many times the vote isn't really for someone you like and support, it's just AGAINST the other candidate.

I like many of Trumps policies but never voted for him in a primary. But once he won the nomination I voted for him, it was just as much a vote against Billary or Cackles than anything.

The ONLY way freak show Talarico wins is low R voter turnout.

If the negotiations go well, it could re-open in 30 days.

But I always expect Iran's mullahs and IRGC to do the opposite of what is good for their country, their nation's people, and the world.

If negotiations go poorly or get dragged out until the end of summer, then we're stuck with high prices, substantial inflation, poor to mediocre economic numbers, and high "new mortgage" interest rates for the rest of 2026.

I am headed to the polls to vote for Cornyn. I don't think Cornyn wins. I won't vote for Talarico as I have strong enough fingers to hold my nose and vote for Paxton in November. However, I think Talarico will win in November with coattails because Trump can't finish what he started in Iran.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Don't know that Talarico wins, but there will be alot of headwinds against Paxton. Even if we get out of Iran before then, we'll see continued upward movement in the CPI and PPI and there will quite a few Cornyn voters willing to leave the Senate race blank.

Expect none of Trump's initiatives to get by the Senate the rest of the year.

The inflation, gas prices, and lack of spending money in working peoples' pockets is going to kill Republicans in November for sure. Having a crook like Paxton leading the ticket leaves us open for a youthful Democrat surge around Talarico that will make a mighty large crack in the Republican control of the statewide offices. Once cracked, other statewide Republicans will fall. I believe Lt Gov Dan Patrick goes next if he doesn't retire prior to or at re-election time. Ted Cruz should be worried too. Heck, Cruz has a similar, though smaller in magnitude, problem as Cornyn. Cruz has pissed off the podcasting youth conservative vote with his pro-Israel stance. Not sure how the Horseshoe Right influences Republican votes yet, but Cruz fighting with Tucker Carlson, Candice and all the rest is a battle Republicans don't need.

He may have been too flippant in his answer or it may have just been your perception, but he's right. Most private schools don't have the resources to adequately help kids with Down's syndrome, even with the extra provided in vouchers for children that need accomodations. At least he didn't blow emotional smoke up your tail and lie to you like many politicians would.

School choice is a state issue anyway. He will be in Washington, not Austin.

Talarico is a candidate that would love the state of Texas to give the option to people to abort their baby because it has Down syndrome…I would say regardless of what Paxton said, it pales in comparison to someone that wants abortion so people can abort their Down syndrome baby,

Edit to add on Paxton:

"He's a flawed man as all of us are, but he's been unapologetic and pretended it didn't happen. He's voiced over and over again on hard lines for things I disagree with (school choice being the biggest). He's seemed scummy while also trying to be holier than thou which are antithesis to each other.

Most will say he's better than talarico and that's good enough. And with most candidates, I'd agree. I don't for him."

I voted for Hunt in the primary and Cornyn in the runoff, and I will vote for Paxton in the general election. Abstaining from the general election or voting for a third party means fewer votes that Talarico needs to win the general election.

Paxton is a complete scumbag, but he proudly embraces it and it appeals/resonates with his fans.

Talarico is a complete scumbag, but he hides it behind his Richie Cunningham styled persona, and his fans love it.

It's hard to believe that in a country with 270,000,000 adults that this is what we have to choose from.

It's actually gonna be funny when Trump comes out and calls out this Talarico character for who he really is.. Trump will wait until Paxon needs a small bump later down the road.. probably closer to the actual election. I'm thinking Paxon takes him by 15 plus %

This is a statewide election, but it's hard to believe that in a state with 18.7 million registered voters that we could not nominate a conservative with no baggage. Wesley Hunt and most other Texas Republicans would be much better for the general election than Paxton, but we nominated the one candidate who will keep this race closer than it would otherwise be. Now, the national GOP will have to divert money from Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Alaska, and Michigan to help Paxton win this race.
