The gun issue aside (regarding Cornyn):
CORNYN: According to www.govtrack.us, here are statistics that cover Cornyn's record during the 118th Congress
(Jan. 3, 2023-Jan. 3, 2025) and compare him to 99 other senators also serving at the end of the session.
Last updated on Feb. 13, 2025.
Got their bills out of committee the most often compared to other Senate Republicans. Most bills and resolutions languish in committee without any action. Cornyn introduced 43 bills in the 118th Congress that got past committee and to the floor for consideration.
Got influential cosponsors the most often compared to other Senate Republicans. 22 of Cornyn's bills and resolutions in the 118th Congress had a cosponsor who was a chair or ranking member of a committee that the bill was referred to. Getting support from committee leaders on relevant committees is a crucial step in moving legislation forward.
Got bipartisan cosponsors on the most bills compared to other Senate Republicans. In this era of partisanship, it is important to see Members of Congress working across the aisle. 98 of Cornyn's 118 bills and resolutions had a cosponsor from a different political party than the party Cornyn caucused with in the 118th Congress.
Ranked the top leader compared to other Senate Republicans. Our unique leadership analysis looks at who is cosponsoring whose bills. A higher score shows a greater ability to get cosponsors on bills.
. Wrote the 2nd most laws compared to All Senators. Cornyn introduced 19 bills that became law, including via incorporation into other measures, in the 118th Congress. Keep in mind that it takes a law to repeal a law. Very few bills ever become law.
Got the 2nd most cosponsors on their bills compared to other Senate Republicans. Cornyn's bills and resolutions had 755 cosponsors in the 118th Congress. Securing cosponsors is an important part of getting support for a bill, although having more cosponsors does not always mean a bill will get a vote.
Got bicameral support on the 5th most bills compared to other Senate Republicans (tied with 1 other).
The House and Senate often work on the same issue simultaneously
introducing companion bills in each chamber. 36 of Cornyn's bills and resolutions had a companion bill in the House. Working with a sponsor in the other chamber makes a bill more likely to be passed by both the House and Senate.
Cosponsored the 11th most bills compared to Senate Republicans.
Cornyn cosponsored 440 bills and resolutions introduced by other Members of Congress. Co-sponsorship shows a willingness to work with others to advance policy goals.
Introduced the 12th most bills compared to All Senators.
Cornyn introduced 118 bills and resolutions in the 118th Congress.
Ranked 12th most politically right compared to all others Serving 10+ Years. Our unique ideology analysis assigns a score to Members of Congress according to their legislative behavior by how similar the pattern of bills and resolutions they cosponsor are to other Members of Congress.
Joined bipartisan bills the 16th most often compared to All Senators. In this era of partisanship, it is encouraging to see Members of Congress working across the aisle. Of the 440 bills that Cornyn cosponsored, 39% were introduced by a legislator who was not a Republican.

WESLEY HUNT:
Since GOP Congressman Wesley Hunt announced his candidacy for the United States Senate last month, various allegations about his voting history have been made by his critics. As part of its Texas Fact Check, The Texas Voice examined some of the questions surrounding Wesley Hunt's voting history.
Hunt Claimed to Support President Trump in 2016, But Did Not Vote in the 2016 Election.
In a recent interview with Jack Fink on CBS News Texas' "Eye on Politics" program, Hunt was asked by Fink about claims that he did not vote for President Trump in either the 2016 primary or general elections. Hunt responded by saying, "That's a boldfaced lie. I've been supporting President Trump since 2016, and I have the proof."
The Texas Voice independently researched voting records from Harris County, where Hunt resides, and verified that Hunt did not vote in the 2016 General Election. The voting history records indicate that Hunt voted in the 2008 Democrat Primary and General Election, but did not vote again in Harris County until the 2018 General Election. Hunt's first vote in a Republican Primary was in 2020, when he ran for Congress for the first time.
Hunt Admitted to Having "No Regrets" About Voting for Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democrat Primary. During a candidate forum during his 2020 campaign for the Republican nomination for Congressional District 7, candidates were asked when they had last voted in a Primary Election and for which Party. Jeremy Wallace of the Houston Chronicle reported on the forum, where Hunt acknowledged that his most recent vote in a Primary Election at that time was in the 2008 Democrat Primary.
Wallace noted that Hunt said that he had no regrets over his vote for Clinton.
Hunt's voting history has been an issue in his previous campaigns. In a February 22, 2020 post on his Big Jolly Politics blog, David Jennings reported that Houston conservative activist Dr. Steven Hotze rescinded his endorsement of Hunt after learning that Hunt had never voted in a Republican Primary despite having voted in the 2008 Democrat Primary.
"Hunt now claims that he was part of Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos", which doesn't make sense at all since Hunt has missed Republican primaries in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. If he was a committed Republican, why miss those primaries?" wrote Jennings.
Hunt has one of the worst attendance records in Congress missing almost 20% of votes:
Hunt skipped a vote condemning antisemitism and political violence.
Hunt skipped a vote passing a bill that would simplify veterans' claims.
Hunt skipped a vote supporting local law enforcement.
Hunt skipped a vote passing a law that prohibits AI-generated child porn.
Hunt skipped a vote passing a law that provides tax relief to people affected by natural disasters.
Hunt skipped a vote passing a bill that cracks down on illegals tunneling under the border.
Hunt skipped a vote passing a bill that makes violence against women and children by illegal aliens a deportable offense.
His excuse was that his vote wasn't needed to pass the bills, so he didn't have to show up.

KEN PAXTON: WAAAAY too much baggage (legally, personally, politically).

I bet you can find many employees of many politicians who wouldn't vote for them. Especially those that get behind the curtain. That's actually not very unusual.
Asking who the "worst" posters are on TexAgs is like asking which jalapeño at a tailgate is the hottest, it depends entirely on who you ask and how much "maroon-tinted" Kool-Aid you've had that day.

Any voter with half a brain knows that Cornyn has been a pretty squishy Republican.

The problem is there are a lot of GOP voters that do not have half a brain, hence the RINO train keeps on rolling.

Which is rock stupid. Trump screws up endorsements at least half the time. One of his biggest weaknesses. The only one he should make in Texas is Hererra now, finally.

In 2012, Ted Cruz finished second in the primary with 34%, 10 points behind swampy David Dewhurst! Cruz advanced to runoff where he won by +14, then crushed the general. Texas conservatives should vote for who they believe in. It's not Cornyn. And Paxton would mop the floor in November with Talarico, who has said so many leftist/offensive/racist things over the years he's no problem to crush.

The McCain family has long loved them some rino's. That's a tacit endorsement of Paxton, to me. She lacks any intellectual depth at all, probably why she was on the View I guess.
