And unlike this woman, she was not threat and did not try to kill anyone
Oh, I guess Babbit was just taking a peaceful stroll through the capitol and decided to break into a barricaded area, even after being warned. FAFO works both ways hotshot.
She was just there to give out some hugs and, if she were alive today, would be welcome to kick out Ellis' window any time.
You're getting way out there, buddy.
Ashli Babbitt didn't try to kill an officer. That much we know for sure. This dead woman did.
You don't know what her motives were.
I know her actions were not a deadly threat to any officer. But don't let factually differences get in your way.
Unless you knew her personally, you most certainly do not.
I think I watched every link posted here and all the angles. I must live in an alternate reality and not see the same video. I don't see her run over or ram anyone. I see her try to drive off and get shot though. Maybe I need to watch it on my 85" 4k tv in full res to see. Very strange. ***shrug***
Quit interfering with law enforcement, pretty simple.
Especially amateur ones who panic at the first sign of stress. Can't imagine a Texas state trooper putting himself in that position or firing multiple shots in a residential area against an unarmed person. That agent is Uvalde-ready.
As stated before:
A. She was not unarmed. A moving vehicle is a deadly weapon.
B. She was given verbal orders by Federal Officials, which she ignored and tried to flee, placing the LEO in front of the vehicle in immediate mortal danger. That's on her.
C. Looking at some of the slow motion video of how the vehicle was positioned before she put it into reverse, turned the wheel, and backed up, I'm not entirely convinced that the LEO was in front of the car at that point. She very well may have placed him there by backing up the way that she did. At minimum, he was on the passenger front corner panel before she began to move.
D. Therefore, giving her the benefit of the doubt, she knowingly tried to evade multiple law enforcement officers (that minutes before, she was ACTIVELY interfering with), and exhibited wanton disregard for the safety of the officer in front of the vehicle... AND, she might have placed him there herself when she backed up.
CONCLUSION:
I probably would have panicked as well had I been in his position, and had been injured months before in a separate dragging incident. Any seasoned officer would be expected to panic if he was worried he was going to be run down. And, I'll wager you would have too.
