I'm hearing rumor we are going to lose our DOPD (Klaevemann) to Ole Miss? Anybody else heard this?

She has a very good resume so easy to see why other schools would be looking to grab her and/or her looking for other opportunities. I certainly hope the rumor is not true.

I agree. I do know through mutual friends she hasn't been happy in Aggieland. Hope she finds what makes her happy. Not Ole Miss is the place

Just over 2 weeks from the start of Fall ball. Hopefully we get the Fall schedule soon.

ON3 shows the third 2027 commit (the three mentioned recently, five overall so far) - Sis Gray, an MI from Norco, CA. Norco is where Mya is from. She also had contacts from TN and FL. I have not seen an 'X' post from her yet.

See the Aggie commits and rankings here:

https://www.on3.com/college/texas-am-aggies/softball/2027/commits/

I started using ON3 during the last transfer portal time. I had never heard of it until then. With national signing day not until November I'll probably be checking the site regularly. Interesting to see what players are being sought after by what teams.

Jenna, the MI I posted about this morning, is the 3rd ranked MI and Sis the 8th ranked MI. Would be great to have three or four KK's at the infield spots at the same time!

I noted about a week or so ago that last year the Fall schedule was released on Aug 29. Thought it would be released the first week of Sep or so. Just a wee bit off. Guess they have been busy with recruiting and still negotiating with prospective opponents. Would like to see the roster released, too. Most of us know it well but nice to see the bio of each player in one location.

Just a thought ... Jaz and Rylen were both in the dugout last year. IF she leaves ...

Coach Ford knows Jaz really well and both were really great players and really good people. Hmmmm ...

Thanks for posting.

Seven games - great schedule !! In addition to playing Texas State and tu again I like the addition of Baylor and Sam Houston. Houston would have been a great sub for either one of them.

Aggie Softball is built Ford Tough !!

Much better schedule than years past. I wonder if any rules changed to allow more fall scrimmages against d1 opponents.

Speaking of rule changes I love that coaches retain their challenge if the ruling is overturned

Jenna Caldera is our highest rated 2027 commit, according to Softball America. 19th overall and 3rd in position (MI).

Sis Gray is the next highest rated, also an MI. 35th overall, 9th in position.

From what I have read they are both really good.

No. 5 in team rankings amongst schools with at least 3 recruits.

They both seem to be borderline 5 star recruits! Which is great to hear. Throw in our development of players and they will be future all Americans

Of the top 150 the Rivals published, the top 10
Players are "5 stars" and end with a "score" of 98. Of the 10 "5 stars" 3 were "99" and the other 7 are "98". From #11 thru #19 are "97", #20 thru #32 are "96", and #33 thru #46 are "95".

Jenna is #19 (97), Sis Gray #35 (95), Zoie Griffen #72 (93), Kynlee Arechiga #102 (92), and Ella Carmack N/R (89). The number 150 player has a score of 90. So Ella has to be a top 200 player in the country. Not sure how much to put into "stars" or "ranking", but so far this class is pretty good.

Chuck Masingale (#21 overall, 96 4 star catcher & team mates of Jenna & Sis) and Brielle Gardner (#36 overall, 95 4 star pitcher, #1 pitcher from Utah and #12 Nationally) have visited campus.

Abby Atkinson (Boyd, TX, #38 overall 95 4 star pitcher) and Bayleigh Taylor (Liberty, TX, #31 overall 96 4 star middle infielder) both have Texas A&M listed with a "Contacted" tag of teams of interest. Hopefully they will be at Kyle when the Ags's take on Auburn next week.

If all that happens, commitments from Chuck / Brielle / Abby / Bayleigh, the 2027 class would be at 9. That has to be one of the bigger classes Coach & Staff has recruited.

Thanks for the report, we appreciate it !

A lot of great Texas talent going out of state but that's normal.

Obviously, never know what will happen in the future with transfers in or out or what commits will actually sign.

Given that, we have to look at roster size. Currently at 24. Six seniors graduate this year. Seven commits in class of 2026 equals 25 on the roster. Will find out in November how many sign.

Five Juniors this year. Barring transfers in or out the class of 2027 will be roughly limited to five or so, the current number.

Our large signing class from last year moves up a year. With a few additions and subtractions back to the original ten. So, good chance the 2028 class will be another large one.

In a perfect world, which is practically never the case, each class size would be roughly the same. But we do with what we have and make the best of it.

First Fall game only two weeks away - whoop !!

Gosh, I wonder if TexAgs will post a 'photo gallery' with a ton of pics of the softball team returning to Fall practice like they did for baseball?

Chuck Masingale (#21 overall, 96 4 star catcher) committed to UCLA yesterday.

Did hear Coach Ford posted the GIF signifying a commitment last night around 10 PM. Not sure if anyone was on campus this weekend. Assuming no due to no football game. Hoping it's the pitcher from Utah.

I was wondering if anyone would comment on my post about the baseball pics but no softball pics.

Please note this brief excerpt from the two-sentence opening to the post with all the baseball pics from TexAgs:

"On Friday, the media was invited to an open portion of practice ..."

It's up to Coach Ford, basically, to make the decision for an invite for a media day but the media could initiate the request. I hope either Coach or the media (TexAgs, the Batt, the Eagle, etc.) does so because it is always great to see pics of the team at Davis, especially after a long summer with few reports, AND I would love to see pics of the new players in Maroon and White.

Hopefully a media day for softball is in the works or will be soon !!

On Kay, I think she is the one who wrote the article after last year's Fall game vs tu. The only coverage of the Fall games. I think she would be a great choice for Fall coverage this year.

Thanks for posting!

Freshman year, 2023-2024 Gatorade POY info:

"The 5-foot-10 freshman right-handed pitcher led the Riverhawks to a 30-1 record and a Class 4A state championship this past season. Gardiner compiled a 27-1 record on the mound with a 0.78 ERA, surrendering just 69 hits in 162.1 innings while striking out 246 batters. She also batted .532 with nine home runs and 55 RBI to produce an OPS of 1.570. Gardiner enjoyed a 32-inning scoreless streak during Ridgeline's 2024 state tournament run while also leading the team in hitting (.640 average) throughout the postseason. She limited opposing batters to a .125 average this spring."

2025 Utah 4A All-State

2025 MaxPreps High School Softball Underclass All-America Team

"The hard-throwing ace and power hitter will be one of the most sought-after recruits heading into her junior year. She can pump 70 MPH in the circle and hits moon shots at the plate."

On the 2025 U-18 Women's National Team

A great pitcher and hitter, like Taylor Brown. Power pitcher.
