So a League star can just be shoved into the ground? WTF?

Meanwhile Cade can just lower his shoulder and do what he wants

Also not a foul right there...refs have money on the spread?

Big time win. Spurs handled the ridiculous physicality from Detroit and gave it right back to them. Off night offensively from Wemby and Fox, but Vassell had a huge night and stepped up. Defense was fantastic. Castle gave Cunningham absolute hell all night and Wemby blocked and altered countless shots. Big time performance.

Detroit grabs and holds nonstop, every single possession, and then we get a cheap offensive foul because holland runs in to Vassell.

Worse. Robinson had both hands wrapped around Devin. And then on replay the ref says that was incidental.

How can you call that incidental, call a moving screen, when the screener is wrapped up by a defender?

But ball didn't lie with Wemby waxing the shot other end.

Yes the Spurs sequence coming out of that video review was perfect

Houston and Detroit are two teams that just absolutely lean into the physical side of the game. I really don't want to face Houston in the playoffs, not because I don't think we can beat them, but because I worry about what kind of toll that takes on Wemby for what would then be the WCF after we beat their lame asses.

This was a sort of statement on IMO. On the road, against the best in the East and came out on top.

We handled their physicality well, but Wemby needs to find a way to deal with that because the best teams are only going to get even more physical with Wemby
No matter what!

And the big thing is we can have an off night from our two best players, get hosed by the refs, and still beat the best team in the NBA on their own court because we have legitimate depth.

And we have elite defense. Wemby had 6 blocks. Castle held Cade to 5-26 shooting.

32 assists on 42 FGM is fantastic for us. Detroit had 21 on 40.

Only had 12 turnovers (7 of which were steals).

If we play our game with ball movement, attacking the rim and defense, no one beats us this year.

Rather play Houston over Minnesota, OKC, and Denver, though.

Rather OKC than Denver. We've got the mental leg up this season plus the petty Wemby hating Chet fun. Bring it

Beyond ridiculous. Spurs need to make a tape and send it to the league office.

Detroit can't handle the clamps.

Yeah, I think we'd easily win the series against Houston. But once they realize that I feel like Idoka will tell Sengun to just maul Wemby for 48 minutes.

I was about to say, that was BEFORE the Pellies gave us 4 1sts to eat Graham's contract.

Ime doesn't have to tell Sengun anything, he is a piece of **** and will do it from the opening tip off anyway.

Teams know they have to be physical. Refs can't allow teams to physically shove Wemby to the ground over and over like last night.

Sengun and Amen will do it for Houston.

Randle and McDaniels will do it for Minnesota.

Caruso and Dort will do it for OKC.

Draymond will do it for Golden State.

Brooks will do it for Phoenix.

Vanderbilt will do it for LA.

We aren't getting away from dirty players in the playoffs.

Denver, OKC and Minnesota have the three hardest remaining schedules. Spurs 15th. Rockets 25th. Hawks 26th.

Get Plumlee healthy and have him come in and start beating on the opposing star. Tell them he will stop when they knock it off with Wemby.

That was the best win of the year not counting OKC. That was playoff basketball and then some.

We have some real physical players in Castle, Keldon and Kornet. That group won't be bullied and are true enforcers out there.

Wemby, Bryant and Harper still need a year or two to strengthen, but have the fight and will to get back up and give as much as they get.

Fox and Vassel are the only true finesse players in my mind. Great to see Vassell step up big last night.

If Vassell and Champagne are hitting their 3s like last night, then nobody is beating us. Great win!

Need to add a PF that can nail threes like an Ag Major at the Texas Hall of Fame.

3. Wemby (up from 5)
29: Fox (up from 35)
50: Castle (down from 48)

Vassell got snubbed. He's better than some of the guards listed. Sheppard is in the 80s, but gets played off the floor because he is small. Devin is playing great on both ends of the court. Just ask the Pistons.

About Spurs draft prospect Karim Lopez. Karim will be the 1st Mexican player drafted in the 1st round. He's listed at 6'9 and 224lbs. Shooting 33% for the season. He is playing pro ball in the NBL and doesn't turn 19 until mid-April.

12p/6r/2a with 1.0b and 1.2s on 49/33 shooting.

Highlights for his 32 point game a couple weeks ago:

You can immediately tell he has some mass on his body, so I think realistic that he could be a 240lb PF someday. He absorbs contact pretty well. Shot doesn't look super smooth, but 33% at 18 in a pro league is acceptable for a PF. He doesn't finish above the rim, but he seems to have a good collection of midrange pull ups and floaters.
