precheck definitely shorter today but still very long. regular line going through check in areas. Line is moving efficiently, just very long.

clear is working, just didnt see the usual throng of marketers.
for the fact that it was wrapped around all over the front of the terminal lobby where baggage drop usually is, that was incredibly efficient. almost exactly 35 minutes.

Just went through TSA and am waiting at my gate in Terminal C at the moment. We checked our bags at C and walked to E for TSA. Lines were long at 6am but moved efficiently. We got through PreCheck in about 20 minutes then walked back to C.
Is this all government shutdown related, or construction related?
My parents fly Air France on Tuesday. I'm presuming the international check in and TSA are normal.

Government shut down related. Last I saw Terminal D security was closed.
I'm flying international in 2 weeks, business class. Wife and I are thinking about getting Clear. Does anyone that has it find it that beneficial over global entry? Flying klm so I assume we will be terminal e.

No benefit, in my opinion.
Your TSA pre-check through Global Entry is equal or better.
My wife got a free year of Clear and we ran an experiment. Through twelve mixed domestic and international airport experiences, her Clear got her through before me one time, which was a return trip from Nashville.
I would say that's true except for right now. If TSA is say 30 minute wait right now she is going thru way ahead of you.

Parked in Terminal C parking around 11:15. No checked bags.
Lady at parking said to Mickey Mouse train to Terminal A as Terminal E was a madhouse.
Came up the escalators in A and it looked like a third world country. People everywhere.
Wife and I have TSA Pre so luckily found the line for it and were through security in about 15-20 minutes.
It was by far the fastest moving line including Clear. Non Pre and Clear was backed up big time.
Took the SkyTram to C and got there around noon so 45 minutes from C garage to C terminal via A with TSA Pre.
We got real lucky in my book as we didn't hit any snags.
If you're not TSA Pre or Clear, either give yourself a couple of hours or pray real hard…
Edit - Clear was moving much faster than non Pre but maybe about half as fast as TSA Pre.

Sounds like A is the best bet. My flight is at 8:10, so guess I'll plan to get there about 6. Just to be safe.

Pre check and clear is the best combo.
Arrived at 1:30 into C, parked in A so took the airside skytrain to A. Exited A from AA/Spirit side where TSA was closed (exit only) to 3rd world country. Jam packed everywhere. Can't imagine how much time it was going to take to get through that line. Clear had tons of people lined up on A south side to enroll in free trial. Managed to escape the terminal to the parking garage….what a chaotic mess.

A south just now. Lines were baffling long. Skip clear and do precheck as clear has a bunch of people signing up day of (as said above) and it's still super long.
I went through precheck in 10 minutes and heard a lady behind me say she had signed up for clear that day to try and bypass some of the line and she still waited an hour.

I'm supposed to fly out of E tomorrow…I think I may have uber drop me at A so I can use clear/pre and then just take the skytrain to E. Since E doesn't have Clear I think A will give me more options.
Just got through security in A. Regular security was the worst I've ever seen it. Wrapped around the entire room and downstairs. Precheck took maybe 10 mins. Felt like VIP's
