Reminder

We need a lot more deportations. Only a fraction of what waltzed in illegally in four years will be deported or self-deport over the next four years.

It would be interesting to see these broken down by state as to evidence of cooperation in each region of the country.

A simple 'thank you' would be nice from some of these illegal aliens helped home.

Numbers are no where near what they need to be. Need to find a better solution. Need to use the school district info.

The incentive to leave is nice but I'm thinking that you need to cut all benefits to get more takers to deport.

Three things that would get rid of most illegals in short order.

1. Put a 100% tax, or ban outright, all remittances to other countries unless the person sending the money is a US citizen or permanent legal resident. This would require a way to verify the person sending the money is actually related to the person receiving it.

2. Limit welfare to US citizens only. This wouldn't solve the problem of anchor babies, but it would force some to leave.

3. Congress defines birthright citizenship to apply only to the children of US citizens and permanent legal residents who are working to gain citizenship.

Of course we have a do nothing Congress so nothing will be done about it.

Add drivers licenses to the list, 19 states plus DC not verifying immigration status is absolutely insane.

I would also add for critical social services such as healthcare you can't outright restrict it but verification and reporting of immigration status should be required for the claims process. This becomes difficult without a federal ID or state ID that includes verification, the former I would not be a fan of but may become necessary at some point not just due to immigration but voting and other government services abuse.

But 100% agree you have to make it much less attractive to be here illegally as well as punitive deterrence when caught.

#3 will have to be either decided by SCOTUS or redefined with an amendment. At this point, a law either way is not going to help.

On #1, I would be happy with something like a 25% tax, but would waive it for anyone that can prove that they are in the country legally.

In Texas, I would require schools to ask for citizenship status when kids tried to enroll. Due to the current laws and jurisprudence, I don't think you could ask kids to prove citizenship status before enrolling, but there is nothing stopping the school districts from asking.

"Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

One could argue that the 14th Amendment gives Congress the power to set those limitations. Given the current Supreme Court's position that Congress needs to do their job and not leave it for the Executive and Judicial branches to fix, a law could pass muster.

If the GOP majority in Congress were not such lazy deep state deadbeat liars, this would be an easy single page bill to use the power granted under the Interstate Commerce Clause to require citizenship to be verified and stated on state driver's licenses or...the states that do not comply lose all funding from the federal Highway Bill.

I mean, temporarily.

You aren't going to be able to change the definition of "subject to the jurisdiction of" with a law. Congress doesn't get to interpret the constitution.

There is already KYC for banks, is this to find illegals using the US banking system?

I know things changed a bit once online banking took off, but growing up anytime I made a transaction at a bank I had to show ID. I don't understand how you can bank in this country without being registered in some way.

Harjinder had a California CDL, probably a bank account too. Garbage credentials facilitate illegal aliens getting banking services.

My wife is a greencard holder and every time she goes to open a bank account she has to call them and send a copy of her card....
So how illegals are getting accounts?
Maybe using fraudulent data?

Nope.
3 different states, 2 national banks

Im thinking either the illegals used others ssn etc, ot the banks didn't follow procedures/laws.

Keep in mind too, to "prevent money laundering" the banks have to report any suspicious deposits or any over a certain amount (i forget what).
For that to happen, the owner has to be fully identified.....

So it stands to reason that some financial institutions may have already violated federal law.

Supposed to be $10,000 but my previous bank reported $5,000, even though I'm in business and frequently move more than that.

Is Western Union still a thing? I remember illegals used to use it to ship cash back home.
