So... It's an ugly stadium, there are few nearby amenities, airflow is poor, and shade is lacking. But it should stay in Hoover so the kids can slide? Don't you think they've built-in amenities for children in all modern ballparks?

I joked earlier about it moving to St. Louis, but I think Memphis or Nashville would be ideal. I have no doubt that (at least prior to single elimination format) the SEC fanbase could fill a AAA ballpark.

And I've said since the day Bevo was invited to the SEC that this tournament (if it survives) will wind up in Round Rock.

No MLB park with natural grass is going to host a conference baseball tournament.

MLB will not allow a week longish tournament where multiple games a day are played on a natural turf field in the middle of its season. I'm not even sure why the Big XII moved from GLF, maybe it was MLB putting the kibosh such tournaments whether if it is real or fake grass?

I actually wish they would move it some place closer to the beach. Might actually think about going if I could double dip a beach vacation and some baseball games.

You skipped over the comments about more expensive and domed stadiums. My comments are largely about how this tournament in its current format is family friendly. Meaning you can afford to go and not feel like you are paying Disney World prices for hotels and Levy-prices inside the stadium. It's not about playgrounds.

Sure, move it to Nashville. First Horizon Park is a good AAA ballpark. But the weather is still what it is in May. It's been raining here all weekend, too. Memphis is a cess pool, thanks but no thanks.

It seems as every tournament east of the Mississippi River has some sort of rain delay this week.

I recommend you go to Hoover before passing judgement.

Swimmer said it was cost prohibitive for the Big 12.

I wouldn't say family friendly. I would just say fan friendly. There are so many places out there these days that exist just to suck money from you. Hoover doesn't feel like that.

Have been a crazy number of challenges involving pitches that are technically balls but are called strikes because of the extra width in this tournament's ABS system.

They've not made it to Omaha the last two years they had a top 8 seed, and I hope they continue.

Been to Hoover numerous times. Like Bricktown better. Tons of hotel and restaurants all walking distance. Never have to drive anywhere. Weather delay just walk back to your hotel and wait it out.
And Birmingham would not be bad either.

Single-elimination baseball tournaments are bad…having them where it rains is evil. Maybe we can play them in one of the Phoenix Cactus League parks?

That is why we quit going to Hoover. One and done too many times. Rain delays you can't walk back to your hotel or a restaurant/bar. And I love baseball but after my Ags lose I want to get out of town as soon as possible.

RR (or Frisco) should be considered, but only as one of three rotating destinations. Texas, Nashville/Memphis, and somewhere in the SC/Ga/Fl area -- perhaps Tampa.

1) We're not in the market for a coach. We were last offseason and...
2) We showed we were unwilling to spend the kind of money that it would take to land a proven winner in a top flight conference.
3) I was trying to generate discussion
4) A pitching coach by trade, and his teams can absolutely mash. I'd be thrilled to have him.

11-1 final in 7, UGa. Wow

And for all of the rain in the week's forecast, the games went off relatively smoothly.

Agree. My first time to go, and came away thinking about going again. AL is beautiful. Their highways are better than TX. Hoover is like the Woodlands with big hills. Hoover had police helping with stadium traffic all day every day. The playing field was perfect. The seats were very comfortable. Great experience

Too long ago to offer a comparison to Hoover, but I saw the 89ers there and had a great time.
