Utah Tech and Cal Baptist are tied up 4 to 4. CBU looking to add some more runs.

Now they're calling it a ground rule double. the video just slowed it down and zooms in and it apparently hit at just the perfect angle to go behind the padding, but not over the fence. There's about 8" of fence above the padding, but below the yellow line on top of the wall.

Poor Coastal player had already done all of the dugout celebration nonsense and had to go find his helmet and go stand on 2nd in the rain.

App State catcher has thrown out 3 runners at 2nd today and just made a great play to tag a Chanticleer out at home.

Derrick Mollica is in the bucket for this game. He's another that let's his emotions control him. Let's see if he can be like Goshay and call a decent game.

Derrick: 3 for 6 on challenges, with some "can't take them with me" type challenges at end

But the strike zone is a single plane. It is where the ball crosses the plate.

Think about the shape of the plate, if the ball touches any part of that plate, at the proper vertical height, it's a strike. The plane they use, adjusted for vertical height, is like a piece of paper the width of the plate and the height of the strike zone placed at an arbitrary point. If the ball breaks that piece of paper, it's a strike. But, the actual zone is not a flat plane, it's a 3d shape of the plate and the vertical strike zone height.

Seems that the only pitches where the 2D model differs from the 3D one is when the ball misses the 2D slice but has such an angle that it crosses a similar slice at either the front or rear of plate. I'm thinking its inaccuracies are negligible compared to relying on human eyes, and has the benefit of less expensive technology.

Coastal really has the top of the wall measured here... they should maybe hit it juuuust a little harder.

I tend to agree here. Now, high arc slow-pitch softball pitchers would have a greatly different opinion.

Rammer Jammer Alabama!

(not really rooting for Bama as much as I am against Flo Rida )

Agreed. But discounted since they've been drinking

Coastal pouring it on.

As for ABS, I said this yesterday, but with some of the nasty sweepers and sliders thrown today, a "ball" that is 0.1" off at mid-plate is highly likely to be a strike at the front of the plate. I bet it happens quite a lot.

Maybe Coach Rob should have stayed ON the headset... an almost HR during the interview, then back to back BOMBS by Gators, 444 and 447

starting to think the Ags need to go all-in to win tomorrow

need to match Florida round for round
RED AG 98
How long do you want to ignore this user?
yep, too much separation in the total SEC W column makes that H2H less relevant... we need to win.
W
How long do you want to ignore this user?
if Bama doesn't rally...their record vs. SEC competition will be 18-13

the Tide did not play Georgia

the Tide were swept by Kentucky -- non-regional team

and Bama's Q1-Q2 marks don't stand out over A&M's...like Florida's do

Not reading through the entire thread, so apologize if already addressed.

Why are the games today during the day? Were they moved for weather or were they always scheduled as day games?
