May have something to do with the fact that he's in the bottom half of the order, which is where he should have been last year but injuries required that he move up. He's a 6-7 hole hitter, not a top of the lineup guy.
This may have an impact, but he also lost 10 pounds and altered his swing to avoid dropping his hands. Seems like he took this offseason very seriously and we're seeing a good start as a result.
If I told you before the season that after the first 4 game series that we would have 3 guys with .800+ OPS, how many of you would have picked Walker and Loperfido as 2 of them?
Happy to see Walker looking good at Daikin. Having him hitting well will put pressure on the pitchers not to pitch around some of the guys ahead of him.
