Good luck with that.

Straight anything is not celebrated. All we do is, you know, continue to further the species.

White anything, also not celebrated. That would be racist. Somehow.

That's my point

IMO if the end goal (and this is for all minorities) is to be fully accepted and equal then being singled out with a crosswalk, designated month, designated this, designated that, etc etc is counterintuitive.

If you don't want to be singled out why would you be clamoring because you're not singled out?

Makes no sense to me

These groups are traditionally all liberal voters.

Being a liberal means being a hypocrite. On every subject. Every day. It's part of the mental disorder that is liberalism.

They can't see that demanding everyone be inclusive and equitable while also demanding some sort of special treatment and recognition doesn't really jive.

They will NEVERunderstand this. Which leads me to believe it's not just about being respected and treated equally as a human being. They want to be praised and adored, and have their lifestyles and sexual habits not only tolerated, but celebrated.

BY FAR the most annoying minority group to ever exist...and that is quite a f'n accomplishment.

On a separate note, I was ignorant of the Broussard crime, and totally not surprised when I read the kids were from the Woodlands and on drugs.

Or maybe broker a historic peace deal in the Middle East that Barry Obama or Autopen Biden couldn't do.

Heaven forbid our President wants to clean up some of these crime ridden sh-t holes that these mayors and Governors are ok with. Be thankful that you live in a big city like Houston, where you're getting upset over things like painting crosswalks (I don't care either way what they decide to do with them) and not Portland, where you have to dodge ANTIFA and violent rioters if you're out and about near downtown. Or Chicago, where 1 wrong turn leads to to be fearful of your life.

So a young man loses his life in a terrible tragedy and his surviving loved ones think painting a mural highlighting his sexual preference is the best way to honor his memory?

See? Worst PR campaign of all time.

So far in 2025 alone there have been 1,910 hit and run incedents in this country, none more tragic than any other. We going to paint a crosswalk for all of them?

Roads are for driving, not memorializing or making political statements.

Haha this is a great way of putting it. On F16 I made a comment about a certain demographic that commits a vastly disproportionate amount of crime. It was not racist or edgy, but simply a valid response in line with the heart of the thread...and some lefty comes in playing obtuse asking for me to spell it out for ze/zir, as if that is some sort of gotcha. As if actually naming the racial group, who EVERYONE knows I am talking about, is a way to shame me or paint me as a "racist" or something.

I even made some excuses for them (democrats since 1965 ruining their communities and family structure). Even the pinnacle libs like Don Lemon , Whoopi Goldberg, and George Soros would know in their heart of hearts who you were talking about if you said "the group that makes up a small minorty yet commits the majority of the violent crime"...or "the group that is 12x more likely to murder whites than whites are to murder them".

It's silly, but just a pathetic defense mechanism.

This particular poster got offended and called me out on the Entertainment board for saying something like "Females in film" in a post. When I asked why it triggered them, they said it "sounds super incel" to use the word "female". Apparently it's a bad word now.

Can't keep up with the woke dumbassery and I can almost guarantee with absolute certainty that I am far less of an incel than that poster.

Gay crosswalks and politicians ordering removal of politcal-statement-crosswalks is political in nature. Sometimes there are political things that happen in cities. Sometimes there are even political subjects that bleed over into TV and film and therefore the Entertainment forum as well.

One more win for the bigots.

Texas is governed by anonymous Tik Tok accounts and Ron Desantis.

I personally don't care about this issue, but calling people bigot because they don't want a road crossing painted in the LGBTQ flag colors seems a little over the top.

If Greg Abbot doesn't want to be called a bigot, he should stop being a bigot.

So removing this off crosswalks is bigoted?

Only because it is gay related. But gays are among the most bigoted people out there, they just refuse to acknowledge it.
