It was done in memory of a young man that was killed in a hit and run at the intersection.
So far in 2025 alone there have been 1,910 hit and run incedents in this country, none more tragic than any other. We going to paint a crosswalk for all of them?
Roads are for driving, not memorializing or making political statements.
I love these totally serious rules you guys come up with. Roads are not for memorializing!!!

(Over a dozen roads just named for Ronald Reagan)
Lol. Comparing a random obscure crosswalk painted as a virtue signal for a political group to highways legally named after one of the greatest American Presidents.
So, roads are for memorializing?

Haha this is a great way of putting it. On F16 I made a comment about a certain demographic that commits a vastly disproportionate amount of crime. It was not racist or edgy, but simply a valid response in line with the heart of the thread...and some lefty comes in playing obtuse asking for me to spell it out for ze/zir, as if that is some sort of gotcha. As if actually naming the racial group, who EVERYONE knows I am talking about, is a way to shame me or paint me as a "racist" or something.
I even made some excuses for them (democrats since 1965 ruining their communities and family structure). Even the pinnacle libs like Don Lemon , Whoopi Goldberg, and George Soros would know in their heart of hearts who you were talking about if you said "the group that makes up a small minorty yet commits the majority of the violent crime"...or "the group that is 12x more likely to murder whites than whites are to murder them".
It's silly, but just a pathetic defense mechanism.
