Leftists continue to smear Paxton. He's not a great dude, but y'all had a chance to prove it and never could. Shhhhh.

Nobody here is a leftist. Even you admit he's 'not a great dude'. That's the whole point and why he should not be representing Texans.

But Cornyn is a great dude and should represent us? We're choosing between two turds in the toilet bowl. Cornyn has been in the toilet the longest and smells the worsttime to flush him.

What has Paxton done that makes him a turd?

I imagine this will be like his impeachment. Lot of BS.

Speaking to his personal life, he's a POS. As a politician, I'm a big fan. I'm not hanging out with the man on the weekends, so I don't give a **** about his personal life for my vote. I care about what he'll do for me in DC.

Think that's been pretty obvious in all of my posts on the topic.

That's where I am. Politics is nasty business and you need someone who will go in there and fight, and Paxton has proven he will do that. I'm also not blind to the fact that they all have skeletons in the closet and would shock the smugs who think a politician is a noble person. They're not.

Has Cornyn thrown in the towel? I haven't seen any commercials for him lately. Last I saw was those lame ass thou shalt not ads. And I don't think I've ever seen a Paxton ad.

Not the flex you think it is Cornyn…

Dude was literally a Democrat until he switched parties. The quintessential RINO!

Someone should remind him about Grimm's wife's association with Enron if he's going to keep attacking Paxton…

I hate to break it to you but until about 30 years ago about 80% of the current Republican party were Democrats. The only ones who were always Republican were the Bushes.

Okay. Times change. That includes that the Bush republicans were proven to be useless. Younger conservatives want republican politicians that will actually push conservative policy and fight like hell against the democrats. Boomers, on the other hand, still act like the democrats can be reasoned with and that "nice" politicians are still the way to go.

30 not 40. Republicans did not get a majority in the State Senate until 1997 and the House until 2003.

Looks like misappropriation of taxpayers money in the AG's office. It has lead to some resignations and audit coming from the Comptroller's office.

The agency paid more than $20,000 for a nonrefundable block of 10 hotel rooms at the Courtyard Marriott in Washington, D.C. for employees attending last year's inauguration of President Donald Trump and Supreme Court arguments over a new state law. When a winter storm prevented several of the travelers from getting to Washington, agency employees identified private citizens who wanted the rooms and agreed to pay out of pocket for them. The list of private citizens included major Paxton donors, a controversial Albanian businessman, and the chair of the Albanian Republican Party. State Sen. Angela Paxton, Ken Paxton's wife, also took one of the rooms at her own expense.

Just gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Cornyn has far less character issues than Paxton IMO. There's also a good chance we have a candidate we could all agree on next go-around than Paxton being there indefinitely (which is what will happen if he wins in November).

I don't give a **** about the moral high ground with my vote anymore. We're in the midst of an ideological war for our country's identity. Cornyn is not a conservative. We need someone who will push and not obstruct. Paxton has shown himself to be willing and capable of doing that with Trump's agenda.

Their scoring system isn't "conservative". It's hardcore libertarian. Hence Massie and Paul both getting A's and Ted Cruz getting a B...

If this ****ing race ends up like Roy Moore in Alabama, where his baggage dragged him down, and Paxton loses to Talarico because of the same thing (or insert Herschel v Warnock 2022), the hardcore folks here need to come out and eat their plates of crow...

I am NOT a fan of Cornyn and would like a challenger that could beat him in a primary. But one that doesn't have all the ****ing baggage that Paxton has...Hunt would have been GREAT!

Sometimes the hardcore base just loves to shoot themselves in the dick, though...

JFC...pick a conservative but NOT CONTROVERSIAL candidate and this is a ****ing cakewalk.

In a state office with just a little cash being tossed at the Dem, that's easy.

For Senate, there will be HUNDREDS of millions of dollars poured in from all over (yes, even illegally from outside the US) to try to get him elected....

It's much higher profile office...

Rather than whine about people being willing to vote for new blood instead of the more harm than good establishment RINO, you should be praising them. The only way you will ever get conservative candidates is if the populace views voting out poor performing incumbents as acceptable and a risk willing to take. Please come back and eat your plate of crow for all the whining about the primary when Paxton beats Talarico.

People are waking up to the reality that there's no point in winning if winning means we keep the same establishment RINOs around that do everything in their power to keep the status quo, which is one step right at best, then two steps left on the next pendulum swing.

Yes, I would prefer a better conservative with no baggage. But Paxton is light years ahead of Cornyn and that isn't a praise to Paxton but a knock on Cornyn. And either would beat Beto 2.0 in the general.

And I voted for Hunt in the primary but will gladly vote for Paxton in the runoff and general. He's not an incumbent RINO which is a huge bonus for me in big races.

I voted for Wesley Hunt, but I am voting for John Cornyn in the runoff because Ken Paxton is too much of a risk against James Talarico. I think winning the general election and keeping Senate seat red is more important. I agree that the hardcore base sometimes nominates candidates whose baggage drags them down in general elections. That's why it's imperative to nominate a conservative but also electable candidate.

My biggest question why are we giving hotel rooms to a controversial Albanian oligarch and the head of small Albanian political party. If you know anything about the Balkans, Albania is not known for being a honest country or government.

I worked in China for 7.5 years, I get corruption. But this is still a nothing burger.

Mediu is the head of the Albanian Republican Party and is a former Defense Minister of Albania. He's been cozy with Rumsfeld too. I'm not going to be shocked that he brought Ulaj, one of the richest people on Albania, along for the ride.

Also, if you want to go after Paxton for having Albanian ties, I'd invite you to go after Cornyn and Cruz as well.

More from Louie Gohmert this morning (4/7/2026):

Gohmert ran unsuccessfully against Paxton for TAG in 2022.
Quote:

Despite Ken Paxton's claims he essentially had crooks conspiring against him in his office just like Pres.Trump, Paxton ADMITTED in Court to all the facts & law specified against him in the pleadings by the whistleblowers he fired and retaliated against. That wasn't at all like Pres. Trump's situation. Judge Catherine Mauzy found on April 4, 2025[Case # D-1-GN-20-006861, TX 250th Judicial District Court] just as Paxton admitted, that he retaliated against & fired his top employees for reporting his corruption despite his long, loud claims to the contrary outside of court. Otherwise he'd have had to give a deposition under oath about specifics. Paxton learned from Bill Clinton that with all Paxton had to hide, he could not afford to allow anyone to ever ask him questions under oath.

The trial judge accepted his in-court general admissions & issued judgment based on those admissions for a $6.6 MILLION judgment against Paxton. Right after court, for the benefit of his blind followers who would never read the transcript nor believe media reports, Paxton said publicly it was "a ridiculous judgment that is not based on the facts or the law" & that he would appeal the outrageous judgment. BUT IT WAS BASED ON FACTS & LAW PAXTON HAD JUST ADMITTED IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE THAT DAY!

On May 2, 2025, Paxton appealed the judgment while he continued to publicly protest the unfair judgment he said he would definitely get overturned & supporters & legislators did not need to worry. If he had not appealed in May, the judgment would've become final & been presented to the Texas legislature for payment before they recessed at the end of May 2025 & that would've made all kinds of news with legislators up in arms against Paxton. Paxton assured them he'd get it reversed on appeal.

After the Texas legislature adjourned at the end of May 2025 (not to reconvene until January 2027 AFTER the U.S.Senate race is over), Paxton quietly filed to dismiss his appeal on July 3, 2025 [#15-25-00085-CV, TX 15th Court of Appeals], since he really had nothing to appeal because he had admitted everything. The judgment is now final. Texas taxpayers are now stuck with the $6.6 million bill for the wrongs Paxton did to innocent attorneys in his office who tried to stop his corruption. Interest runs on the judgment at 7.5%. You don't have to believe me. But don't believe what he says either. Look up the case for yourself; look up his comments throughout. Look what he did and what and when he filed things including his dismissal of the appeal. Very cunning, but extremely dishonest.

It sure sounds like Paxton is STILL slandering those he retaliated against though they are sincere, conservative, fine, ethical people. Look them up. Talk to them. They're the kind of people conservatives should want working there. Though I appreciate the conservative lawsuits his assistant AGs have filed & continue to file, it's the norm for Paxton to play the victim of the chaos his own lies & unethical behavior create. That lawsuit against him, though, is only the tip of the iceberg of Paxton dishonesty.

At CPAC Paxton thanked God for getting him through "all that" impeachment, but it may have helped that he had mega-wealthy donors who made clear they would pay millions to defeat any state senator who voted to remove him during impeachment, & also we had a very poor, moderate Speaker of the House who handled it terribly. Another help to Paxton getting through "all that," in my opinion, has been that he can speak dishonestly with a straight face more effectively than most anyone I've ever met, & I've seen some amazing liars in court & in Congress. When I ran against Paxton for AG in 2022, I hoped to beat him and end his corruption back then as well as have the assistant AG's making sure all our counties were going to have fair elections in 2024. The AG doesn't need criminal jurisdiction to file civil suits to keep elections clean. The lies he spread about me were ridiculous and east Texans knew that.

Since I was an Eagle Scout, I've always stood against corruption, even when it made friends mad. Now our Republican Senate primary is down to 2 candidates. Though Senator John Cornyn & I have had differences at times & even made each other angry, he's never lied to me_ not ever! In this primary runoff, I'll be voting for John Cornyn. Voting for lies and corruption is not a choice.

LMAO. Well, instead of bringing hearsay to his impeachment, had there been actual sworn court testimony, they would have brought that.

But, that was not introduced. Only BS was brought to the impeachment.
