Really interesting pickups for Vanderbilt… they had an awful time in conference play, but they built some momentum in the tournament. Their young team with some additions should provide them with a lot better season in 2026. I like Wunsch as an opposite

Great teammate always attended the captains meetings. Worked hard by all accounts. Wanted to be a part of this season but still get a chance to play one more time. Best situation for both and I don't think many girls could do that honestly

rumor that Kaia Caffee (Ohio State MB) coming to A&M

People in the volleyball world seem really high on her, seems like she was in an unfortunate mess in Ohio State as they only won 6 games. She was the 16th ranked recruit in the entire 2024 class. So she would be one of the highest rated prospects in A&M's history. At 6'4 she is pretty athletic for her size and really strong offensively!! I think it's a great pickup and we can do some damage with that size at the net! Jamie and staff is gonna turn her into a monster

That's another key issue that needs to be discussed in volleyball. In football you get 4 games and you retain your redshirt, in volleyball you play a set and you burn your redshirt. Which I think is awful. There should be a minimum number of sets played.

On the other forum they were discussing this because a talented freshman lost her redshirt after going in for a couple points in one of the last matches of the regular season

Yeah - not sure why football gets special rules. Well, i know why football gets special rules. He who has the gold makes the rules.

With open transfers it ramps up the risk to the schools to preserve redshirts.

Jamie mentioned that Volleyball had been paired up with other sports in a single NCAA rule committee. Starting this year, because of the growth of the sport, volleyball is getting its own rules committee. Part of the problem has been that basic stuff like redshirts or playoff seeding were basically decided for the group of sports.

Jamie was excited about this specifically in the playoff seeding context, as a volleyball specific committee will spend all their time discussing volleyball and will be focused on what is best for volleyball rather than a compromise that works for multiple sports.

Man, if we land Kaia Castle and could get another elite middle blocker like Ayden Ames (be great to see the look on Texas fans) this team just need 1-2 outside hitters and I would think they would be reloaded?

I aint a volleyball guy like football but my wife is an ex-pro indoor and beach player. So she teaches me a lot.

Barely missed a game. Wish TexAgs covered volleyball more proactively through the year and not just when things look exciting. When a major staff member and host just learns that the 5th set is 15 points....not a good look for TexAgs knowledge base of the sport. Just saying.

Let's give these girls far, far, far more credit and coverage next year!

We didn't even have a forum last year. It's come a long ways and there is more to go.
