This team can still dogpile. The 4 decade long mental trajectory is way tougher to overcome than any pitching injury. Physical talent sets expectations. The gray matter determines whether you meet, fall short, or exceed them...over time. This team can dogpile.
Amen!

Do you want to know the names of the A&M coaches that have reached 40+ wins in their first two seasons as HC?

Johnson
Childress
Pineapple
Early

And you want to keep him on a short leash?
Interesting choice of stats ... So what you're saying is that every coach we've had on the last 40 years has accomplished this?

Exactly. And all of those coaches did fantastic things at A&M, correct?

Is that sarcasm?

Mark Johnson went to Omaha twice in 21 seasons and won one game each time

Childress got to Omaha twice in 16 seasons and never won a game there…what is fantastic about that?

Thank you, Weston Moss, for an outstanding performance in Game 4 of the regional!
If you would have added the score and location I would have definitely concluded you were Iraq2x sock account.

Just so I'm tracking…

Mark Johnson led A&M to 2 CWS appearances, 5x conference championships, and is the programs all-time winningest coach with a 876-433-3 record. He's also an ABCA Hall of fame inductee.

Rob Childress led A&M to 5x conference championships, to a school record 13 consecutive NCAA tournaments, 2x CWS appearance and was a lifetime 665-346-3.

You do not believe Mark Johnson and Rob Childress were fantastic coaches at A&M. Is that correct?

Have no desire to read this thread. Can someone give me the Cliff Note version on how it got to whether or not MJ and RC were less than at least solid coaches?

Valid.

I'll withdraw from further discussion for now.

Compared to what exactly?

They were fine coaches, but fantastic to me is elite and if you want to be elite you need to have post season success

POS is our most accomplished coach ever and he was here for just three years

Sorry if my expectations are higher, I want A&M to be on the level with the best

Gotcha.

So, you do not think athletes like Larry Fitzgerald, Dan Marino, and Megateon are elite. Because they didn't have post-season success. But you believe Trent Dilfer is an elite QB, because he won the Super Bowl.

You actually haven't even laid out what your standards are. So would you please do that? Could you List some baseball coaches you think are "fantastic", please?

Players and coaches are different animals, that's a nonsensical argument
