Typical Aggie postseason woes…

Darden tomorrow - try to get 2-3 innings out of him. 3-4 innings from Lyons to follow, then Corn closes it out.

Healthy Mccoy and Morton staying around wouldve been nice right now from a SP standpoint.

Good on Earley for putting Sims first and doing what's best for his future.

If Darden is dialed I think they pitch him as long as they can. This got 1000x thinner without Sims.

If Early produces a similar throwing squad next season it will be his last in Aggieland. No one knows that better than he does. Much of the offense will need to be replaced and that makes it twice as hard but this is the job he wanted so go and get it done.

Some were sure he was 100% healthy.

Sucks to see but glad he is getting pulled now for his sake. If he is on the brink of permanent damage as is, I wonder when/if TJ is called for him.

If we can bash our way to one more win this weekend the Tarheels have some big time arms but we were one run away from a couple series without Sims against some good teams. It can happen if some guys on offense continue to play to their potential.

I'm sure there will always be big time pressure here but I think next year there will be A LOT. He could surprise us but I don't see how we are a more talented team and with the standard set you need to get back to Omaha once every 3 years or so. We saw what was capable here with the right coaching staff. Nobody wants to go back to the Childress days. Hopefully this is all a moot point after the next two weekends.

Two questions:
1) why do you think Kelly is gone?
2) can there be optimism about Sdao? Stating the obvious…but he's struggled so much this season. Is that a coaching issue?

So it is JK's fault that Sims is out for the season? As a logical person, this seems very illogical to me and based strictly on emotional over reaction. I trust Coach Earley to decide what he does with JK and the pitching staff.
Right now, I am going to actually enjoy a win which some of you sadly seem incapable of.

Maybe you are right. And from your post that seems more important than us being in the regional final. Personally I am going to enjoy the win. Sadly not sure if you are capable of that.

Really hope this isn't something that could flare up and bother Sims next season or anything like that. The roster construction of our pitching staff is one of the worst jobs I've ever seen a coaching staff do.

For baseball, the number of injuries we've had to deal with are ridiculous. We've had a lot of practice already trying to piece together rotations to give us a chance to take 2 of 3 so I think we have a punchers chance to get past the regional and super. If we do that, there should be a ton of credit for the players and coaches. And even if we don't.

Of course not. But have we (a) recruited any top flight arm talent under his watch? Or (b) seen significant improvement/development of the arms we have under his tutelage?

I think there has to be significant discussion about whether to make a change although I think it's far from a foregone conclusion.

Let's look at facts. He has been here 2 years. The first year was a wash for recruiting due to how Schloss and Max left. He has had one year to recruit and usually fish pitchers don't start. Darden has been less than advertised and Vargas disappeared. So they basically whiffed on the portal. We were woefully behind in facilities and Schloss even bemoaned how we were losing pitching recruits because of it. We have had some brutal injuries. I think Freshcorn, Lyons, and some of the younger guys have progressed. Sdao has not been the same since his injury which is sad. Those are the facts. I trust Coach Earley to make the right call.
