Dang, I'll be there next week but it looks like that place is on the west side of town.

Yeah, I don't have much knowledge east of town. Sorry about that.

Silly friends…I had a crawfish boil here at the house this past Saturday. I pulled out more than a few bottles and brought them outside for people to drink and taste. Told people mixers are in the house. One buddy (after his personal jack and coke cans went empty) went inside to get more jack and coke. Dude opened my glass cabinet and opened (taking the wrapper off) my JD12 for his coke. The big bottle of JD is sitting on the table top chest level. The JD12 is in a cabinet knee level tucked to the left. I didn't realize it until this morning. He didn't realize it was JD12 and thought it was regular JD.

Probably the best Jack and coke he's ever had!

Fatty's has a whole lineup of Dark Arts. I've never had any of their stuff. All I know is that it's usually finished MGP that has been given high marks on the internet.

Anybody have recommendations? There were 4 different ones on the shelf. The only two I can remember were the Amburana and Mizunara.

That's what he told you.

Which of the JD products would he have been able to grab the quickest and easiest (based on your description above)?

Oh well . . .

It would depend on the bottle and what they have it priced at. If you find a blunt end at retail, I'd buy that.

Howdy! I donated a bottle of Orphan Barrel Barterhouse 20 Year Old Bourbon to a silent auction benefiting the Cedar Park Public Library Foundation. A fellow Ag is on the board. Please go bid! And if you win, I'd love to taste a pour.

Here's the link to go bid:

I usually do the fill your own bottle experiences from distilleries if they offer it.

My favorites are Whiskey Thief (where you actually thieve it, no machinery involved), Angel's Envy, and Copper & Kings (recently have new ownership so not sure if they still offer).

Always fun flying back with bottle(s) you filled yourself.

I was able to do it in 2024. Was a lot of fun and especially cool to hand log your bottle in their ledger. And the barrel strength bourbon is phenomenal.

Whiskey Thief is fun. I got to thieve some out of a Buffalo Trace barrel - not a full bottle but got to fill up my water bottle (barrel proof BT = Stagg - amazing).

Heaven Hill You do Bourbon was fun too. Got to bottle some ECBP

Whiskey Thief is an excellent experience and fantastic juice. Probably ended up with one of the best bottles from any of my trips to KY from there. Highly recommend…especially the Franklin County location.

Was in Spec's at lunch and went to the glass case first just to see if anything new was there. As I was looking, an employee at the front counter pointed out that they got some things in that were sitting at the register. There was a Thirteenth Colony cask strength, an EC 15 and one other one. She made sure to tell me, unprompted, that was all they had and nothing allocated. I went back to the normal section and was looking and another employee asked if I was looking for anything. I said I was just seeing what they had and, unprompted, she said they had Blanton's and ER 10, but you had to be a Key Club member.

I picked up an ER as I haven't seen any at my Spec's for a long time.

I don't really care to spend $150 on a bottle, so I passed on the EC 15. How good is it? If I was in a more convenient location to trade, I may have picked it up for that purpose, but it's too hard for me to meet anybody for the most part.

Definitely could have sold it to someone on here! I've been on the hunt for one.

Making the most of this rainy day with a little crawfish.
Brought along some ECBP Rye A126, EHT Rye, and some Iron Wolf Straight Rye to Louisiana.

Cheers to the weekend everyone.
