I've always thought of 400-450 as a target cap for member owned clubs. Getting over 550 seems to be a disaster to get tee times Friday-Sunday.

The number of members is less important than the number of rounds played per year. There is all sorts of data out there that suggests 24,000 annual rounds is the high-end before member satisfaction starts to go negative due to tee sheet congestion, course wear-and-tear, etc.

Lakeside has 1,000 members and 40k rounds per year. I don't hear a lot of fussing about much when I'm out there.

If I were Braeburn and the list was that long, I'd raise the cap. The social scene at Braeburn is limited from what I hear as it's too far from where a lot of members live and it's not a great neighborhood to be in after dark. I don't think the course gets anywhere near 40k per year either.

now I have heard it's impossible to get an early weekend tee time at Lakeside from a few members. Braeburn I've only played during the week, and my hosts have never had an issue getting times. Actually, I dont even recall ever having a group behind us at Braeburn.

Lakeside is generally easy to get a tee time if you plan ahead of the lottery which is normally two days out. If you're want to go spontaneously play the next morning it gets more challenging. Then again, it's always doable to just text a member that has a free spot in a group and ask to join them.

I don't hear about tee time complaints, other than maybe from people that don't get their ducks in a row and have less flexibility.

For as much as Lakeside costs I'd be pissed if it was that difficult getting a tee time.

For me that would be the main draw of joining a CC. Flexibility and ease of playing.

IMO lotteries are for munis and lolpoors (like myself). Having to do them while being a paid member of a CC sounds like BS to me.

It's neither hard or impossible to get a tee time at Lakeside as some have thrown out there…That's greatly exaggerated.

You aren't likely to just walk on a Saturday or Sunday morning prime time, but I've never NOT been able to play a day that I want to play…and as mentioned above, the worst case is you just find someone you know on the tee sheet and tell them you want to join.

The Sterling Club question.

For any members at Sterling, Willow Creek, or Panorama. Can you play and use the facilities of the other courses? Assume there is some restrictions.

Work near Willow Creek so being able to use the practice facilities and pay a cart fee or similar for a weekday round would be awesome.

I think you probably can use the other clubs.

You can play the other courses but you are limited to 2 rounds a month I think. At least thats what a board member at one of the clubs told me.

Delayed response, but FYI if you're still looking for this information.

isn't sterling now what used to be ClubCorp? I was a travel member for clubcorp around 2019-20 and it was a great deal at the time, but was also allowed access to woodlands country club courses I noticed that arent on the map above....also brenham is now a member of this? I was wondering wtf they were charging people $100+ to play on the weekends now. so dumb

Anyone a member of, or been to, InTown Golf Club where Post Oak Grill used to be? Very interesting concept. AI says initiation is $3-8,000 with monthly dues from $100-$300. I have an appointment to talk more about membership on 12/31.

Price seems crazy for simulator golf, now if it was similar to that TGL on ESPN…that might be cool.

I played Willow Creek GC for the first time the other day in years. Course was in great shape, they had upgraded some of the facilities, and the course plays TOUGH. Not a ton of room to miss, a lot of trees, and a bunch of shots over water.

100% would go again and may consider signing up at the current price point.

Interesting. But for that price, you could just build a sim room in your house.

The Tru Spec fitting center is in that place i believe. Similar to the club champion and impact precision fitting experience.

I have a lot of coworkers that are members. They have done a great job. It's awesome. Dining rooms and bar area have been full the days I've gone and the food is quite good.

At its core it's the country club model and the economics of it don't square but that's not the point. I would join in a heartbeat if I worked in the galleria full time but I believe their membership is full and the waitlist has gotten quite long.

*not a member so I may be dead wrong
