Anyone know if the modified double dip for SW companion pass is still alive? 2 personal cards 2 calendar days apart but within 24 hours? Haven't read much since December.

It seems to be pretty widely used.. the pointsguy goes into great detail about it, and on plastiq's website they outline every single visa card out there and what it's charged as.gvine07 said:
It sounds too good to be true - make sure Chase doesn't count it as a cash advance. That would disqualify the points and come with additional fees

We've always done the personal and business at the same time. Getting a business card iant hard just sign up as a self proprietor

That's not what he asked about or what I linked.
There was apparently a time where you could sign up for two personal cards and get two bonuses, which is no longer doable. Biz card and personal card is the way that everyone does it now.
If you do use your LLC be prepared to have them ask for documents supporting the LLC. But other than that, no nothing really is different but the LLC one will for sure take longer to get approved.foleyt said:
Signed up and received CIP using my social in December. Hit my minimum and got the bonus so I'm looking for my next one. I have an LLC I don't use, can I self refer and apply for another CIP with that EIN? Anything I should do differently in the application?
I'm referring my wife next month to AMEX Bonvoy, right before the offer endsThe Anchor said:
If anyone is looking to open an AMEX Hilton card or the AMEX Marriot Bonvoy card let me know. I can "refer" you and get extra points. Thanks!

After reading and digesting this great thread along with the Reddit link and wiki, I am ready to apply for the CIP. Anyone have a referral they want to send me and get some points? I'm not currently TexAgs premium so you will have to email me at j_beaman @ sbcglobal dot net.
I'd recommend the CIP over the United personal (or business). The 80,000 Chase points can be transferred to your United MileagePlus account at a 1:1 ratio, making the bonus twice as high. It also has a higher earn rate for your daily spend. Using for personal use is fine too if you are worried about meeting the 5K spend for the bonus. If you don't think the annual fee is worth it after one year you can downgrade to the CIC or CIU with no annual fee and get the second annual fee refunded.JMac03 said:
So I've been trying to read through this. Currently I have a United, Marriott and Disney Chase. I use Disney for my business but want to drop it because I just do not see much value in it - it would probably be rare we will go back to Disney now unless we were already in the area.
So if my Marriott and United cards are over 2 years old, I can renew those? Do I just sign up for new and then cancel old? It won't give me errors that I already have those cards?
So is Chase Sapphire my best bet for my business? (Or Ink?$ I don't put a ton on it - I would actually have to put personal expenses to meet the $5k in 3 months. I did just get hit with the annual $95 fee for it.
If yes on Marriott, someone can email me (link in profile) or PM me a referral link if they like. I will probably wait a little longer on the United replacement.
Thanks! The downfall I assume is no free checked bags and 2 United passes? It's $95/year, correct?clintalmighty said:I'd recommend the CIP over the United personal (or business). That is correct. I would have recommended the United MPE business card, but it's signup bonus went down from 75k to 50k earlier this week, so that's an option as well if you value the United specific perksJMac03 said:Thanks! If you get the business AMEX Marriot Bonvoy the fee is waived the first year. Also, if you sign up before March 28 the fee is only $95 a year.JMac03 said:
Thanks!!
And I have received two Amex Marriott referrals. I am not sure if I am going to go with Amex or Chase. Not sure I can justify the Amex. Gonna do some research. Edit - I see the second on is $125 annual fee versus $450. I'll look at it!
Just another option for AA to consider: you can transfer AMEX MRs to British Airways (BA), and you can book AA flights via BA as they are partners. I haven't used BA yet, but there is tons info out there about it if you google it to see how feasible it all is. BA in general has some sweet spots as it is a distance based award program, and others to avoid (some of their long BA international flights, so probably not a big deal for you, that come with really high surcharges/taxes).FiTxAg04 said:
I have a couple hundred thousand Amex points racked up, but I've been struggling to learn how to get the most value out of MR points via transfer partners. That process seems quite complicated, especially since I rarely fly internationally, and when I fly domestically I'm typically on American or Southwest.
SO... I'm contemplating just picking up a Schwab Plat when my year is coming to a close, taking the 60k signup bonus for that card, and transferring all my points into an investment account (and closing my vanilla Plat after the AF hits).
