All in all I think that's a good win.

Missed it all due to travel, but a big win no matter how you slice it. Sunderlands first home loss of the year. Only saw stats so can't speak to any of it, but seems we dominated and just struggled to put in the net still.

Now do all the times he just easily gives the ball back to the opposition or can't get to outlet pass because he is too slow. The moments in the video happen about once or twice a game, the moments I describe tend to happen about 7 to 8 times a game.

Not saying that Mo is completely useless, but he isn't a starting calibre player on a good team...an average team?....sure...a title winning team?....not anymore. If he was a supersub, I would be more than happy with his performance, but as a starter (especially in the "free role") he hasn't been good enough and is absolutely holding us back.

Just so you know, I'm not stubborn about my opinions: I used to defend Gakpo, but now I toss him in the **** bin with Mo too.

Solid "Meh" on that. Mo isn't the source of our issues this year but he is absolutely having a bad season.

Just saw a great, short video of Rio Ferdinand interviewing Sadio Mane, and they were talking specifically about Bobby Firmino. Sadio said that Bobby's jersey is the only one hung up in his house, and it's because of just how good Bobby was as a player combined with him being an even better human being. Said he is/was the greatest combination of person/player he's ever been on the field with.

It's this type of player, person and personality that I think we are missing. I posted about this earlier in the football calendar year, but our last guy in the same vein of player and person was Jota, and he passed away. This team needs to find a few more guys who are great people and personalities to go with the talent that they have brought in. There are times I feel like we don't have as much of a soul anymore, and it's because I don't think we have the Bobby Firmino's, Jotas, Andy's, and Diaz's etc. anymore.

a sobering statistic is that Mo has the same number of PL goals as Gravenberch. Even if he is out for a month with AFCON it shouldn't be close.

and unfortunately with 5 PL goals, Gakpo isnt doing much better. But Mo definitely has higher expectations.

I like the lineup. Strong but definitely rotating trying to get guys minutes off.

Sloppy mess of a first half but a beautiful cross by Kerkez and finish by Jones. He is absolutely got to play more….he almost scored earlier too with a great shot.

Rio denied a goal. He was definitely onside and had there been VAR, he probably would have gotten that one...

Don't care though. VARless games are more fun and more entertaining despite the occasional error. I miss this old days.
