Not hearing anything yet on getting relief at RB, and again outside of a loan deal I can't blame them much. They'll probably just have to limit Frimpong's minutes the rest of the season, play Calvin Ramsay against some bottom tier sides more and Szbo will have to get comfortable moving to and from midfield. We'll see what happens the rest of the day though.

I don't expect us to sign anyone. And if we let Curtis Jones go, that would be a terrible business decision.

When is Curtis' contract up?

He can go in the summer. I have read reports that if he won't be a regular starter that he'd like to go elsewhere for the remainder of his career. Which is fair enough. Not everyone wants to be a backup for the prime of their career. Just can't afford to let him leave at this moment, and he won't.

It would be a shame if Cujo left. He is the only scouser on the squad and that used to mean something.

I hitched my wagon to LFC when they were a upper/mid table team. At the time, what I loved about the organization was Stevie G's role as local lad/superhero. You could feel the connection between the squad and the fans with Stevie as that crucial link. Cujo may not be the same quality of talent, but he deserves to play more and he should absolutely stay at LFC for as long as he likes. He is loved by the locals and he bleeds for the club. You start throwing out guys like that and you become extremely generic very quickly.

There has always been a scouser in the team, for as long as I've supported them and long before. To lose that would lose a piece of what makes this club great. And I think you hit the nail on the head. The scouser in the team is what connects the Kop to the rest of the team. It was Jamie Carragher and Stevie G for many years then is was Jon Flanagan for a bit before TAA and later CuJo came along into the 1st team set-up.

Sentimentality aside, he's a Home-Grown player. Don't know how the numbers work without him.

We are up against homegrown minimum. That's one of the things that made Guehi so attractive.

I know we've got a slight uphill battle now to finish top 4/5, but I think Chelsea, Villa and Man U are completely gettable. In fact I think we might not even have to do a ton. Chelsea and Villa in particular seem like they could be holding on for dear life, and for once I think we are gelling as a team.

This is one of the more frustrating things with Slot. His man management style leaves much to be desired. Klopp would have never given a quote like this. (I know we should t keep comparing them to each other). But it was teed up for him to give Jones (who apparently might want away from Liverpool) a boost and he chose to say he's basically a squad player and will never be anything more

Macca has been absolute shyte this year and Gravy/Szobo are overworked. There is no excuse for not playing Cujo more. He is a good player and should be worked into the rotation more often.

Honestly, I'm a bit floored Slot doesn't play him more often. Cujo's best skill is ball retention, which Arne is obsessed with.

Arne's honestly was a great quality when all he had to do was tweak the approach laid out by Klopp, now that we have completely lost our pressing fundamentals its less charming.

I'll disagree a little bit on them being overworked. At the end of 2025 I agree they were, but since Christmas the schedule has really lightened up for us. Mostly because we are out of the Carabao Cup and there's been no international ball. I think it's why we really haven't seen Cujo as much, because there's been less opportunity and we got a little healthier.

And while I get the rotation argument, I also understand that from the managers perspective with the way this season has gone, he's going to pick his starting 11 basically every chance he gets unless there's injuries, and Cujo just isn't in the starting 11. The guys are rested and healthy now. There's not much reason for Cujo to play in front of any of the other guys outside of Maca, who's been much much better over the past month than he was in the first half.

Slot definitely isn't a poet with words, and neither was Klopp, but it would be nice for him to just be a little more DISHONEST at times.

My hate for Man United is growing again by the day.

Captain obvious here, but with the turnaround at MU and Chelsea with their mgr changes and our poor run against meh competition, we are entering must win territory against MC to stay in arm's length for CL. And just hardly any margin for error now going forward, which is even more tough with the injury situation. Just killer for that horrible stretch followed up by an extremely misleading "unbeaten" run with a ton of ties against bottom feeders. Really hoping that Newcastle win is the catalyst for some good form and results here.

Midfield has been super sloppy to start

Ait-Nouri has handled Salah quite well in the past, but he is going to dominate this version of Mo.

It feels like 95% of the time Mo gets the ball, he just gives it right back to the opposition (It makes me wonder what he looks like in practice). Worst of all he provides zero defensive cover on the wing. Szobo is going to get worked on that side as he is constantly in a 2 v 1 situation.

Very little hope for this match given that dynamic on the right side.

I'd scrap this game plan in a hurry and get Jones on the field. Take Gakpo or Salah off.

Salah...Gakpo actually tries to play defense.

He should have started Szobo on the right with Jones at the RB spot.

It would have allowed us to control the midfield instead of this tennis match approach we have settled into.

In some fairness to Slot he's showed up to a gun fight with a shank. I'm not sure there's really any solution to this at the moment besides set pieces and digging in.

I don't want to see Gakpo on this team next year.
