Embarrassing to go from preseason #1 to having to beg,bribe,spin and lie your way into the field of 12.

Peewee was already on Finebaum and Cowherd today. I'm sure busy again all over tomorrow campaigning trying to get the world to forgot they got curb stomped by Georgia just 16 days ago and embarrassed by Florida…

6-1 since losing to Florida ... but two of those wins were OT squeakers vs. lowly Kentucky and Mississippi State

I'm not at all saying Texas sucks or that they don't deserve at least consideration for a playoff spot, but it's a numbers game. There are only so many at-large spots available to hand out. Texas had a good regular season, but you can't get beat by an 8-loss Florida team and be largely uncompetitive vs. both Ohio State and Georgia and expect to get one of those spots. If the committee handles things properly, Texas will be in the "first team out" category.

At the end of the day, other teams are more deserving of Texas based on a full, 12-week season. Sure, Texas got hot down the stretch, but the committee would be doing a disservice to the other teams if they ignored the rest of the 12-game schedule.

Even Ohio State has a better resume than ND. And the only teams worth mentioning that they've played are Michigan and tu.

Schedule 2 hard games, lose them both, go to the playoffs. Why doesn't everyone race to the bottom like ND?

Also, let's say Texas beat Florida. You'd have a real pickle on your hands deciding between ND, Texas, OU. This scenario would allow Texas to be in and push ND out because you can't put ND in if they're in the same "tier" as Miami.

But again. They lost to Florida so they have no argument that will win. If Texas has anything to be mad about is that they're going to be 1 spot behind Vandy so the committee will just leave both of them out.

What happens if they did play an FCS school instead of OSU. They'd be 10-2 with a loss to Florida. They'd be in political mode in that case too. They'd get in… we all know that but the committee would have to jump through hoops to get ND and Texas in. The committee would be praying to the heavens that Bama loses this weekend so they could push Bama out

A 3 loss team lost 25% of their games, sorry that's not good enough. In a 16 team field that may be good enough for 13-16, but not 12.

"We beat 3 Top 10 teams." (Vandy is 14 now)
"We barely lost to #1" (refs gifted you 7 to avoid shutout)

A&M beats a ranked LSU and Missouri out of the rankings. "Nope, those are unranked wins"

Nevermind the horrible Florida loss, and taking Miss St and Kentucky to OT to squeak by (media says Texas gutted those out)

There are only 2 teams that truly deserved to be pissed off. Miami and Vanderbilt. Miami because they have the same record, several common opponents, and a H2H win against ND. Vandy lost 2 games… @Alabama and @Texas.

Sark can do whatever he wants but this is what happens to 12-16 every year moving forward.

This is SO true. Even flashed it during our game. Yet our wins against ranked opponents no longer count because they aren't ranked anymore…

OU would be out in that scenario because they lost head to head against Texas

That's the price they have to pay and lesson they must now realize when they joined the SEC conference. This is not your dad's SWC or lil XII…..it's a gauntlet they'll have to navigate every single season from now on…..All the teasing they gave the Aggies for not doing squat in the SEC since we got here is going to become their reality now! They didn't dominate the Big XII and now they're finding out they're not the biggest kid in the playground……2 years in and the whorns haven't done squat either!!! Sark being a whiny a$$ crybaby about not getting into the CFP must be a humiliating embarrassment to a lot of non-tee shirt wearing longhorns…..I know I would be…..

In the scenario of t.u. playing a patsy week 1: Bama has a worse loss to FSU but a better win in the win against Georgia. The issue would be t.u. beat OU, OU beat Bama. Bama has the worst loss but the best win. t.u. has the most good wins. So my guess is it'd be t.u. > OU > Bama. ND might be the odd man our, but it could be Bama.

Texas' problem is this…

As mentioned before, this isn't the SWC or the Big 12. Texas is merely 1 of 16 equal parts. They now have to play by the same rules everyone else does. They don't get to call all of the shots. They don't get larger royalty checks than everyone else. They are not exempt from having games broadcast on SECN+. They don't get to pick and choose (read: dictate) how they want things to be. Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Missouri, and Kentucky are just as important and valued as much as they are.

And they HATE IT.

Yea, they'll still catch breaks that other teams would never be allowed to catch (like being allowed to litter the playing field with bottles). But when push comes to shove, they're treated as a peer, as an equal, as another cog in the gear…equally important as everyone else.

It's killing them…and I'm here for it all.

This thread disappointed. I thought it was going to be some scoop on Schloss and Sark going door to door in Austin as part of their CDC pineapple club.

Bonus points if a monkey had been involved.


As far as the content of this thread, Texas is the number 6/7 SEC team. They are not deserving but it's funny they cannot accept it. And I'm sure watching Tech do the same thing they did in the last year they were in the Big 12 is making them have buyers remorse. Yes, Texas you were stupid for moving out of the Big 12. Everyone knew it then and you cannot accept it now you made a mistake. Yes Tech just did what you did two years ago. Makes what you did not look that great anymore.

Again, they are 7th in the SEC standings. There are only 7 at large bids. And of course they are begging to get in. Texas arrogance at its best. Never change crybabies.

There is zero chance they get in. Math doesnt math. We inflate their power on this BB for some reason. They are a big draw/brand, but no bigger than 3-4-5 other sec/b10 brands including us.

3 losses plus IF a spot opens somehow, miami gets it with 2 losses and win over ND.

Their season ended when Ou and bama won.
