Texas does not suck, they have 4/5 star talent up and down the roster. Arch does not suck. They can beat anyone in the country (same can be said for the Ags).

All that said... they lost 3 games and should not be in the CFP. We had a chance to crush the cock roaches but pooped the bed. So, just gonna have to deal with the Sark circus. He is doing exactly what you would expect your HC to do given the circumstances.

Just stop, you are embarrassing yourself. Why do Texas fans keep avoiding 33% of their schedule? You know, the game against Florida and the game against Kentucky and the game against Mississippi State. Are you sure you want to use transient property, then yeah let's look at that Kentucky game. The only reason you won it is because their head coach was an idiot in overtime. Yet Kentucky gets blown out by Vanderbilt and Louisville. So yes, please keep using transient property. Makes Texas look even worse.

I'm not avoiding anything.

Texas lost to Florida. I was at the game and can't believe how badly Texas played.

Close wins happen in every season. Even the Ags struggled to win against Arkansas and South Carolina.

For the record, I don't think Texas will get into the CFP. Whether they should or not is another story. Fan bases will always argue for their team. That's the beauty hidden in the flawed system of college football and the CFP.

Thank God for passionate fan bases.

Oddly enough, this is the least important metric. And, as stated above, we beat ND in regulation.

Another question Texas fans fail to address is this - If Texas gets in the playoffs, who gets bumped out? Only 12 spots are available - a magical 13th team won't be added to the bracket for the Horns' sake. Sure, the UGA game notwithstanding, the Horns are playing better late than they did early. But it's a 12-week schedule that has to be evaluated...not just a cherry pick of a few games here an a few games there.

So...based on the season-long 12 game schedule of all teams being considered for the playoffs, who did worse than Texas over the entire 12-game span and should be left out?

I'll hang up and listen...

A man of character would never do what Sark and Manning are doing.
A man of character would say we needed to win more games, we will be better next season.
The only thing true about sports teaching life lessons is that it teaches you that people will lie, cheat and demand things they did not earn.

Sark makes millions Manning is mega rich and their crying for a spot over teams with better records is pathetic.

College Football is about as masculine as a Miss America contest.

Sark and Manning are an embarrassment to the sport.
Lane Kiffin and his apologist like Saban and Herby are a joke.

I am less and less interested in their stories.

And another thing to consider. Whether Texas deserves to get in or not, it doesn't change the fact that Sark is behaving like petulant little entitled snot of a child. It's a terrible look and folks nation-wide are taking notice. Someone in the Texas Sports Information Office needs to muzzle that guy. It's only allowing the rest of the country to see the side of Texas athletics that the rest of us have been seeing for years. This isn't the SWC or the Big 12. The "...but, but, but...we're TEXAS..." no longer has the clout it used to now that Texas is just an equal partner and peer to the other 15 schools in the SEC.

Yes

You are avoiding several things bc you are here debating they deserve to be in. They do not. You are avoiding the truth.

If you were not avoiding the truth, you would state you do not deserve to be in the playoff.

I mean it's a really pathetic look.

You cannot say you are not avoiding anything when you lowed our win over Notre Dame and just now acted like your OT win against Kentucky all that matters is you won. Do you even see what you are doing.

FYI, avoiding reality.

Man up and state you don't deserve to be in the playoff.

Disagree. Likely every coach in Sarks position would be lobbying the committee. Sark is just annoying where some others have a bit more charisma. It is hard to watch because Sark is Sark. Don't let that convince you others would not be doing the same.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
For those bashing Sark for campaigning to get into the playoffs you're idiots. What exactly do you expect him to do? Just sit back and stay quiet? It's literally his job to defend them. And if the roles were reversed, Elko would be doing the exact same thing. You know it… you just won't admit it.

Yeah, the Florida game was a slip-up no doubt. And it'll probably cost them a playoff berth. But acting like close games are some unique flaw is ridiculous. Every team has them. Just look at the South Carolina and Arkansas games.

And here's what bothers me the most: what's the point of playing tough out-of-conference games early in the season like Ohio State or Notre Dame if the committee doesn't factor them in? If those don't matter, then the first three weeks might as well be the college version of NFL preseason

Actually

I know why Sark is doing it. He's gone full sip. Every sip I know lives in their own make believe reality.

Similar to 33 on this thread.

The more Sark keeps stating these things over and over. He believes them. So he will sleep well at night when they are out of the playoffs. Because in his mind, they made the playoffs.

Sips have many bad traits. But this smelling their own farts arrogance is the reason no one likes them or wants to hang out with them.

I cannot star this enough.

The lack of personal and professional integrity and -- as you put it -- masculinity -- being displayed by these so-called "leaders of men" is beyond ridiculous.

They are whiny-ass babies masquerading as tough football coaches.

I have long been a cynic but their actions make my cynicism even worse, if that's possible.

Texas fans and many in the media twisting themselves into pretzels on X to make their case for the CFP would be laughable if I didn't think it would have an impact. God only knows what is going on behind the scenes.

My prediction: The committee uses Kiffin's departure and the Longhorns' machinations to blow up Ole Miss' season and put Texas in the playoff.

Florida was not close. They got whipped.

Yes close games happen. But some close games are won and some close games are just luck. See Kentucky and Miss State.

Miami is not sitting at #14 with a head to head over #13. Miami and Vandy do not have wins over #3, #6, #9.

It is apples and oranges. Im saying based on the circumstances (which are different for all 3 of those teams) every coach in Sarks position would be lobbying. tu is desperate with 3 losses. They do have some ammo (see above). They are more desperate than Vandy and Miami.

The less likely you believe you are to jump the more noise you will make. If they do jump Miami or Vandy those fanbases will roast those coaches for not being more vocal.

Sark is an annoying whinny sip but I do not get why people think he should be taking his ball and going home. It just does not work that way. Also, he does believe Texas has an advantage because they are Texas. And... they probably do. Ultimately, that is why everones panties are in a wad.

I do not think tu should get in. They lost 3 games. But, the outrage at the lobbying is silly.

You just answered your own question.

He's annoying and whining and he's using Texas' advantage to circumvent the system because his team didn't perform on the field.

There's nothing wrong with saying you believe you are one of the top 12 teams. As you said, every coach in his position would do that. But the way he is going about it is detrimental to the sport. He is literally trying to blackball the networks into strong-arming the committee to knock a more deserving school out of the playoff.

They can't say A&M is overrated AND try to claim beating us is evidence that they are a top 10 team. Either we suck, or beating us is impressive. But sips can't possibly give A&M any credit.

Currently. Sips have a tendency to bow out of tough games. Remember when Mack Brown backed out of playing Hawaii because suddenly they were good with Colt Brennan (that's name, correct? When June Jones was their coach?)

Mack used the travel expenses as his excuse for backing out back then.

Plus there is a history of ND and sip on again off again scheduling. Sometimes ND pulled out and sometime sip pulled out.
