That's clearly a rumor started by Texas with that wording.

Lane probably would go there. I don't think he's all that different than Sark so not really an upgrade.

But the wording of Sark seeking NFL job cracks me up. That's all sip wording. They don't want to admit they made another mistake. And that is why they always have a soft culture.

I really don't think it's about money at this point.

I thought I heard that Lane is on some type of coach group chat with Sark and Kirby, among others? If Sark is unhappy enough to be thinking of leaving, Lane likely knows why.

And a little history to go with the above. Mack Brown was the head of the college football coaches association back in 2014 when he was on the hot seat. He was talking with other coaches who might be his successor warning them off from taking that job. It worked and that coaching search was a clown show.

Sark to NFL, Kiffen to t.u. for $20M+. Get ready for it. OM, UF, and LSU will be PISSED.

Let me explain. Texas does not want to make it look like another coach failed. Bc that starts making it a Texas issue and not a coaching issue. So they want it to look like he's leaving bc he wants to leave. It also looks bad on them pushing out a coach they just extended last year.
