Eating a bag of tortilla chips and salsa is not healthy....
My kids have always hated Mexican food until recently.

I tried the Patty Daddy today and was not impressed.

I got the triple cheeseburger (keep in mind they're 2oz patties, I'm not a fatass) with the loaded fries. The burger was fine. Nothing special, but not bad. Didn't really taste the "special sauce". The loaded fries (I didn't read the description on the menu prior to ordering) was just an order of fries with another patty, sauce, and cheese on top, which made them taste pretty much just like the burger. I thought that was strange.

$16 even for the combo after selecting the lowest non-custom tip option on the tablet.

I give it a solid "meh". Would go back if invited, wouldn't go out of my way to go there. The menu initially looked cheap, but after realizing a single 2oz burger wasn't gonna cut it, it wound up being a little on the higher end.

Same experience. Not a place I would go out of my way for. We have been going to Chubbys for burgers lately. Burgers are good and whoever the lady is that is always there is hustling non stop.

That makes good sense. We live nowhere close to them, but between the food and service, it's worth it.

Agreed. I have only been once (a year ago), and the service was very good. The owner visited our table several times. The food was fine. Not the best burger, but definitely no where close to the worst burger I've had in BCS.

A question for those that have been more recently: I remember that they were very specific on the menu about their dipping sauces (in red at the top of the menu). You get the first one free (this includes ketchup) and any additional ketchup was $0.50. Just thought that was weird. I understand limiting the amount of ranch or 'fry sauce,' but I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't have ketchup readily available for no charge. Most places leave an entire bottle on the table.

There must be some sort of contractor issue. There was a lot of crying and moaning when Longmire and Rock Prairie was rebuilt, but it only took like two months. This was like in 2017.

Went to Burger House today at lunch for one last burger and to say goodbye.

Parking lot was full, line out the door, and a lot of stuff selling out as tomorrow is their last day.

The burger was solid as always, and you can tell everyone is tired from how busy they've been, but still the service was outstanding and the wait wasn't too long even with all the people there.

The burgers are replaceable, but the good conversation, Jason and his parent's genuine smiles, and a bow after placing my order will sure be missed.

I went to 1775 Friday for the first time in a while.

Absolutely delicious, as always. I almost hated to eat the brisket, it was so picture perfect.

But geez, I didn't realize how pricey they'd gotten. $130 for four people. Three sandwiches, one half pound of brisket, and few sides and drinks. But I guess that's standard for that level of barbecue places these days when considering beef prices.

I'll keep it as my "special occasion" barbecue (Friday was a coworker's last day) and stick with C&J's for every day cue.

A recent find of ours on the BBQ scene in the area is Smoke Daddy's in Navasota. Pretty good stuff for a little less coin and great folks there! For many in South CS, it will be a shorter trip than several spots in Bryan.
