It rained on Schweitzer last night and it is complete trash now. There's snow in the forecast and if it doesn't come through, the season could be done.

Talking to a guy who grew skiing in NY in the locker room this morning. He made one run, threw his skis in the locker and told me not to strap in. Said it was way worse than he would ever ski back east.

Been meaning to share pictures of my ski rocking chairs I had made this past summer. Can't recommend https://coloradoskichairs.com/ enough if you're lookin for something cool ski, snowboard, golf or even surfboard related. Great family run business down the road from me in Manitou Springs.

Watching Telluride's forecast...temperatures mostly above freezing all week this week. Woof. Really need some good storms the nexct few weeks or Spring skiiing is going to be awful.

Going to snowmass on Wednesday, looks like wintry mix and some snow for 3 days… wish it was solid snow. Either way, the beers will be flowing

How old? I've been sort of eyeing those but thought I saw someone bagging on them

Bought like 2 years ago from a rental shop clearing out their fleet, so I guess they're probably 2022 model? Navy and green topsheets. Got some scuffs on the bases (no core shots), couple chips on the topsheets. They're yours for a sixer if you want them (plus shipping if you don't happen to be coming to NM). I can send you pics if you want to post your phone number for a minute

Awesome! They need about 40" in the next month. Forecast shows 11" in the next few days, which definitely helps. We are planning on heading to WP during spring break.

annnnnnd it's gone. Maybe they'll get 2" on the day.

the big dumps just haven't been there this year... the 14" days and then 6-8" every other day for a while.

When we went at Spring Break in 2024, it snowed every day for 5 days straight. I bet they got 3+feet that week.

40? We need about 80 to catch up to the median. Not for a good year or a great year: a break even median year.

Good News is we should be off the worst year of the last 40 if we get the 20+ inches expected over 2 weeks. Unless you've seen the conditions you don't realize how bad they really are. Breck looks like Arizona.

Same thing happened over the President's Day weekend last year. It was around 40" of snow in the 3 days we skied. They got more snow in 3-4 days than they typically get the whole month of February. Coming off Panoramic one morning, my son was skiing down the middle of Paintbrush with fresh powder up to his knees. Unbelievably awesome conditions.

I get it. But asking for 80" in 30 days isn't very reasonable. Was just saying that I was hoping for 40" before we go. That would improve the overall situation.

Pretty good snow falling in Steamboat. I am at my office in Hayden and can usually see the mountain but it is a whiteout here.

Been snowing most of the day in Telluride...pretty lightly, but steady... but nothing is piling up on pow cam shelf - I guess because it's melting. Hope it's sticking somewhere...

You nailed it. It's 36 in Vail right now. Whats not falling on the base is melting. Whats falling on the base is half melting and then freezing. It's gonna be a dust on crust morning.

40-45 degrees Sunday/Monday will rot out alot of whats falling now. Really need the storm next week w colder temps to hit heavy. Thats the one we really really really need. This is just a melt off cock tease.

Edit to add: this snow is actually good. Itll help ice and cover for long term spring skiing. The high liquid ratio means Itll ice over some of the crud and help insulate the base that exists for what come next week. The temps and SLRs are MUCH better over 14 than over 5. It's like the preseasoning of the grill for next weeks BBQ. IF we can keep the temps at 1 or 2 celcius instead of 4/5 that would be huge.

Overall setting up like a GREAT second half of February. After the Nov-Mid Feb, it's finally feeling like there's relief in sight.

UT/WY should get crushed.

Just got back last night from keystone
Was there Sunday and left mountain at noon yesterday.
Just crazy depressing to make the drive in. Sunday PM conditions on the mountain were better than I expected. Monday morning was icy at first but quickly crushed up and was decent all things considered until shadows and end of day peeps sliding down the mountain
Tuesday was cloudy so stayed icy all morning until noon. Conditions were much thinner, icy, and crappy to the point we didn't even bother trying to squeeze in more runs

We stayed on front side greens for warmup, mostly blues, and one short groomed black. Talked with staff there and decided was t worth time going to and from the back mountains

All that said we still didn't let it take away from a good time and my son was on his 4th ski trip and he got tons better and did his first black

Totally weird side Flex on this One but We skied Eldora yesterday and compared to Snowmass, Vail, BC, Breck, Keyston, WP, etc that Weve been on the last couple weeks, it was MUCH better.

Made us get to thinking why and the only thing we could come up with is the whole mountain is basically smaller than Riva Ridge at Vail T2B. Meaning they can focus their snowmaking on a couple of runs and not spread out over a larger hill. Sometimes smaller IS better…jaja.

Edit to add snowing in Vail. Maybe 2/3 inches on cars and coming down pretty good here at 8,900ft.
