You asked which Line's I think you'd like. Pandora 106 are some of my favs.

I remembered a year or so back you made the Quit Skiing remark so I was always cautious about them. Ok thanks for the detail

Lol, QST Blanks are my pow ski. I love them. Short turn radius, carvebale, float well. They have some weight, though. I have no idea where the hate for that lineup comes from.

I also have a last gen Atris with Shifts that see some resort work/resort touring/low-tide ski. I can't directly compare Atris to 106 QST. But my Blanks (112) vs. Atris (105): Atris is more nimble, lighter - good for steeps, billy-goating; pow, crud, corn, charging and carving - Blanks 100% over the Atris. It's really cool how well that fat ski can carve and how intuitive it is in deep snow.

I do have a dedicated carver, Stockli Montero AX, for firm groomer days. Blank nor Atris can compete with those on firm snow.

That's 75% of my quiver to compare BC and Salmon, lol. Also running BC Orbs (dedicated lightweight touring ski) and Elan 96 Rips-Black Edition (replacing the Atris as the every-day resort ski, but mounted on TR1s for some touring duty - ski is silly light).

Edit: Should add this is for heavy and wet PNW snow.

I've got some Prodigy 3x (women's skis). They're fun, but can be a lot of ski. I don't like them on groomers and they aren't quite a powder ski, but they have their place.

Hopefully that just means there's more snow for February and March.

Going to park city Jan 2-6. Hoping that place gets pounded before then.

I'd guess itll probs be somewhere early part of next week.

They have alot of ground to cover between Latigo/1876/Haymeadow and Centennial. Probably need at least a couple full days of snow making and that looks to be Friday night+. 41 Thursday and 39 Friday make it impossible to think Itll be before early next week Best case. Good news is some good cold Air Will move in that should stop the constant melt off and help them gain some traction on at least opening.

I saw about 9 snowflakes (from the sky, not liberals) this morning on my drive from Hayden To Steamboat. Hopefully the skiers get some snow up there this weekend like forecasted.

Schweitzer's original target date was 11/22, then they pushed it back to 11/28. There's still not enough snow up there but there's 8-16" in the forecast between now and Friday night, so we'll see what happens.

Lots of them were hoping to catch holiday season traffic after thanksgiving but that seems to have been wishful thinking. Dec 6 or 13 looks more likely for some.

Yeah, been Watching it closely, but I think if forecasts hold they're due for a big good sized snow and cold air event and that might only set them back a week or so….

I hope.

Worst case I ski Wolf creek 3 days instead of just 1.

Mt. Rose near Lake Tahoe is open with up to a 20" base. Only certain trails currently open but with a base of 8,260, it has some incredible views of Lake Tahoe and is a quick 30 minute drive from Reno or Lake Tahoe casinos and hotels.

Ehh, not skiing, but we nabbed our Christmas tree in Hood Nat today.

Did skin to the White River glacier for sunrise with the dogo. Terrible turns; phenomenal view.

Purgatory just announced they are sticking with 11/28 but it will be very limited at first. One long blue lap down under lift 2 basically.

On the bright side, WC is now claiming 79/144 runs open. By far the most in Colorado right now.

Good snow coming Over the next 15. Summit looks to get the least. SS the most.

WC would be amazing if it wasn't so flat. The whole mountain is equal ti the very of Chair 4 at Vail. Which isn't even a steel Chair.

I think WC is like 1590 total vert

Yeah, you have to do lots of short laps, but it has tons of tree/glade skiing, which is nice. It seems like the entire south half of the mountain is more or less pick your own path. It's definitely not very steep for very long anywhere

Great choices for helmets and even better coordination of goggles. Very impressed. Now ya gotta get the kids some vinyl stickers to cover them (just make sure they don't cover the vents).

Mine have all the Disney characters (callie has little mermaid, aristocats, 101 dalmations). The boys have the BBC astronaut, Ang and the flying yip yip creature from Avatar the Last Air Bender, etc.

They also make bunny/rabbit, bear, unicorn ears etc and even LED running lights that attach to the helmet.

Makes it easier to find them, and less likely their helmet walks off at lunch or Apres when they have all the extra drip. It also makes brothers vs sisters helmet much easier to discern which is big in our house. Our daughter DOES Not like When the boys use her gear because she says they smell bad JAJAJAJA. She isn't wrong.

They would rather not ski than ski in a helmet w the Ariel and dalmations and glitter.

Oh yeah one little tip: once you put the stickers on the helmet, hit it when the Kiwi silicone spray. Itll make the shell waterproof and keep the stickers from getting wet and peeling.

The silicone spray Is What the also use to fix the glitter to the hard shell of the helmet. It works on boot shells too.

The silicone spray will make the stickers last for years vs only a season or two.

If We Don't Have Snow by then, We may not Have a year two at our shop. Weve had almost 50% cancellations through November and we're around 25-30% cancellations for the first 3 weeks of December. If the Christmas/NY crowd cuts back at that rate, Itll take an amazing spring break for our shop and the others here to not be in a real pinch. Usually wed be putting out ~20 sets of sticks a day at this point in the season growing to almost 50 later in the month. This last WEEK we had less than 20.

Updated GFS run this morning shows two/three weaker storms patterns pushing through over the next 15. The forecast has shifted from the San Juans and Sangres to the 10 Mile/Sawatch/Routt. Thats a La Niña pattern. We didn't really see that pattern established early season but this new forecast wreaks of a La Niña winter/Spring.

Purgatory - 12 Over the next 15 (Down from 27)
Telluride - 17 Over 15 (Down from 33)
Vail - 25 Over 15 (up from 14)
BC - same as Vail
Ss - 35 Over 15 (up from 18)

UT

PCC - 18 Over next 15 (Down from 41)
Solitude - 19 Over next 15 (Down from 37)
Alta - 17 over next 15 (Down from 38)

Tetons

JH - 40 Over next 15 (up from 22)

NM

Taos - 7 Over 15 (Down from 22)

Not setting up well for Christmas in NM.

To put these into comparison

The Blue line Is Last season which was a pretty light season overall (38%).

This year is making last year look like a dream. Really really need these 2/3 rollers to outperform and another system to set over Christmas or it's gonna be a **** show.
