2 and 3 have an edge that would hold Ptex. #isnt as gnarly and I Don't think it would stick because there's no edge to hold it. It isn't really that bad.

Bruh. I gotta take some pictures of the dings I've gotta try and fix this week. Thankfully the Manas I bought before last season are still in plastic

With the **** gravel he's already planning on skiing later none of those look like wasting any time on them is needed.

If it's really that bad I'll rent good demos with insurance.

Steezy bamboo goodness. OG gotamas, edges must be pretty strong because I don't think they're even dented. I'll carve out the gouges and put a little dovetail/reverse fillet on the holes then load them up with ptex and flatten with a file. Will probably become furniture after this season.
The traverses into reforma and the blitzes is just dirt in spots. I don't even notice the sound of rocks scraping anymore!

Probs downloading. More People than you think download because the conditions or ability or exhaustion.

This was a U-10 YSL kid headed back up to the top of the GS run. In his defense, that unload platform is about 3ft long and it's a STEEP 10-12ft down the runoff. They improved it quite a bit since last weekend, but I think there were 3 or 4 race kids that didn't get off when they were supposed to.

Sunnyside Double at Schweitzer. Generally only gets used for ski race events. It's got to be the oldest lift they have running.

Spring skiing in Feb isn't bad of you don't ski after Feb. 14/15 looks like a storm. Wolf Creek might get 18. Crazy year wheb WC getting 18 is huge news.

I'm pretty certain that Mt A had to steal some parts from it last year when our summit lift (Arial) got hit by a tree.

Headed to salt lake on Saturday. Forecast is slowly starting to improve. Staying in BCC just down from solitude but as of now it doesn't look like we can snag a parking spot at Brighton on Sunday.

I think the old towers were all blue, but that's the last one left.

I wouldn't be surprised. I bet the different hills have a database of where there are/were antique lifts so they can salvage parts.

I'd imagine that we'll be donating the parts right back after they replace the lift in a couple of years.

The "Durango Weather Guy" sees our big pressure dome breaking down in the next 10 days. Maybe winter comes back? TBD, heading to Chile for a while, maybe get some skiing done in March!

Nice 14 day for UT. 30 inches over 15 most of that's 10-15.

Wolf Creek expecting the same (30 Over 15 but really days 10-14)

20 for telly/purg

18 for Steamboat

Less than 8 for the 70 corridor.

Good news! We may have our first roller of the season for CO! Ay ay ay ay ay.

Setting up for a 10-12/14 dump and then 16/18 a refill. ****ing fingers toes arms and I'll even cross swords in a public urinal for this to be true.

Bad news day highs until 10th are in the mid 40s to high 30s and full sun. So we're melting like the wicked witch until 10/2.

Breck locked up a bonus 3 overnight. So a light dust on crust for the early risers in Sumco. Better than nada.

We (Vail) need 12 or more over 15 for the back bowls to drop rope. Come on captain planet…

We need a 2003/2004 season spring. Thats the last year I remember it turning mid season from Hard La Niña to El Niño. We went from 7.8 SME on Presidents day to almost 17 in mid April. Anyone that came before Presidents day had white ribbons of death. After Presidents day it tree pow runs and fluff till almost mid may. I remember skiing a basin that year in may after a 26 inch storm. We were actuallly supposed to go golfing. Meaning it snowed 118% more in the last 60 days of the season than it had the 100 to start the season. Miracles do happen…

Saw the bonus 3" on the Breck cams over night. I had almost resigned myself to skiing groomers with the fam first week of March but holding out hope for some bowl and side country fun

" turning mid season from Hard La Niña to El Niño"

is this expected? or just a hopeful comment? I'm new to the thread...

We're booked in Park City, UT in March. I just started considering canceling all those reservations and booking something near Grand Targhee today. Crazy idea? The snow reports I see from Park City have been really negative.

Weve moved from La Niña to the Border of la Nina and nothing. Expectations are it will nice slide el niño at some point over the next 6 months.

Doesn't really matter if we get fully into el nino. We need to get away from la niña. If we can get another .5 in water temps changes it could be a really good March/April. Just beibg neutral is a breath of fresh air.

Feb is looking alot stronger than Dec/Jan. If we can get a storm over the next 10 to hold Reservations in March from cancelling and we get a decent April push from some March Snow and pent up demand , we may be ok. We cut back alot of staff etc so we stopped the bleed now we just need to rent more skis. Weve had the bookings, we just need the cancellations to stop.

Headed to Park City this weekend. Anyone skiing there now? Would love a first hand report on the conditions. Mostly open but very little new snow lately - from weather reports I've followed.

Maybe they are setting up for the increased prospects of a couple of decent snowfalls in the next 2 weeks.

Wife and I were there last week and had a great time (other than travel adventures trying to get out of DFW during the storm). We did green & blue groomers on both PC and Canyons side and it was actually better than I expected. Towards the end of the day it felt like it got a little icier but no real issues in the mornings. As long as you're not expecting too much I think you will be relatively pleased.

Heading back there in March with the kids for spring break. Have fun!

Head to keystone Saturday for a few days of skiing. Need input
First any places recommended for dinner? It's me and 16 yo son
Second Previously posted about getting insurance on rental skis and answer was clearly no. I had hoped for more snow but it's been hot still. Skiing greens and blues. Still no need?
Third....I like the blues going down the bergman bowl. They show open on their site. Should we even try those with just a 25 inch base?

Headed to Winter Park next week with the family (2/12-2/17). Any update on their amount of snow? Also we've never been there and my daughters (11 & 8) have never been skiing before so any tips, recommendations, etc? We do have the kids signed up for 2 days of ski school.

This SRG Skiing guy does overviews of a lot of skis areas on YouTube. If you've never been somewhere before, they're worth a look as you can pick up some good info on areas you might want to ski or avoid, how to get around lines or where to park, get food, etc. He has his own opinions of course but the overviews have a lot of useful information in my view.

Trying to decide between Wolf Creek and purgatory. Driving up from Houston over spring break. Have a 7, 5 and 4 month old kid. Grandma will be staying with the baby while we ski. Ski school is insanely more expensive at Purgstory than Wolf Creek. My wife is not a great skier.

My considerations for Purgatory are:

Further drive, but more of a mountain base that would give kids a more entertaining base and perhaps grandma can spend the day at the base of the mountain instead of at home alone.

More quality mountain runs for the adult skiers with some being more advanced skiers. Enough variety that there will be plenty of easy blues for the lower level skiers.

I'll do one ski school day and teach the kids myself on the other days.

Wolf creek is closer, much less expensive, but possibly a more boring mountain for people used to skiing big resorts with large mountains and base entertainment.

Kids can do ski school every day or half days since it is so cheap.

Never been to wolf creek so makes me nervous committing.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
