Been playing this over the last week. Feels pretty similar to the first one but the two new characters are great. It's still early access, so I'm hoping they add some more to set it apart from the first. I haven't really tried the multiplayer yet but have heard good things.

Awesome game. Played it last year. I never played any of the ones prior to 4.

All the three of the first ones were awesome too. I just picked up a ps5 and it's the first one I downloaded.

Yeah I turned on the default but I don't know why it pings certain things or even what the box outline around certain items means. I'll look into filterblade. I also haven't traded at all and I need to find a trading video, I guess.

Wife got me a PS5 just over a year ago (2024 Christmas) and I've been slowly catching up on my backlog of PS games. All the PS4 era games (Uncharted 4, Spider-Man, God of War, etc.) look and play so much better on PS5. Most of them were all 30 fps originally... all are upscaled 4K at 60 FPS now.

I'm also playing Uncharted 4 at the moment. Been a bit sidetracked by Arc Raiders and old school games via emulation, but I'm really enjoying it.

Yeah if I'm being honest I'm a little disappointed in them charging full price for what is essentially an expansion with a few new cards and 2 new characters. It's fun, but I feel like I've already played everything. I do like the necro guy though. He's pretty fun

Finished it last night. Great game! Started Last of us part 1 today. Very similar mechanics as both naughty dog games I think.

TLOU Part 1 is my favorite video game of forever. Wish I could play it again for the first time. Naughty Dog at their absolute peak IMO.

Been playing the new Age of Wonders 4 DLC. Damn, this is by far the worst "just one more turn" game I have in my library. Hours just deleted from my life and I have no idea what happened.

I just finished it as well. I think the formula (gameplay wise) has gotten a little stale, but Naughty Dog pretty much nailed everything as usual.

They have an upcoming space game which is my favorite genre. Here's hoping they are 100% dedicated to making it a great game and 0% dedicated to preaching the modern message like so many other devs.

Started playing the latest Ratchet & Clank game... it was the next on my list of PS+ games. Really great so far.

Sony's 1st party studios are some of the best in the business when they aren't being forced to make live service games!

I was "this" close to downloading that instead of Ratchet. Been wanting to play this one since it came out. Ratchet is only suppose to be a dozen hours or so long so I figured I would beat that first and then probably Space Marines after.

Fun fact: Titus (the main character in Space Marines I and II) is the same Titus in the Warhammer animated short in the Amazon Secret Level anthology. If you haven't seen that yet, it's incredible. Timeline wise...not that it really matters....is that the Amazon short takes place after Space Marines 2.

I saw that episode and was wondering about that. Hadn't played any of the games but I recognized him and was wondering if it was the same guy. I know nothing about that universe and wasn't sure if they were clones or something else.

I'll have to go back and re-watch after I play the game... it was really good. Makes me wonder why they don't release a full movie like that. Very light story elements and other than a few breaks here and there, a movie that is pure carnage.

I think they are talking about making a movie. Eliminatus is our resident Warhammer 40K expert, but Titus and the other Ultramarines like him are genetically engineered super soldiers and not clones. You can think of them as old school Spartan culture, bio-engineered warriors. They are the spec ops of Warhammer 40K.

High level background on Warhammer 40K: far flung future where mankind has expanded throughout the universe and they are in constant warfare with Xenos (aliens), demons(basically monsters from other dimensions) and heretics (humans who worship the demons). So, it's a three front war in that regard.

Amazon has the rights to Warhammer 40K and has numerous projects planned, though I don't think there are any details yet about what they are. Henry Cavill, who Eliminatus wishes he could be when he grows up, is going to Executive Produce their content and provide some amount of creative direction along with starring in some capacity.

I'm going to avoid trying to say too much about the 40K universe because I'm not convinced I could stop once I started. Needless to say, the first 40K feature released by Amazon will be maybe my most anticipated show/film/whatever maybe ever.

Doh! I knew that about Cavill and forgot somehow.

Agree. I've only read one Warhammer book but it sucked me in. The Amazon short, assuming they let the content guys own it end to end and don't get too involved, is the coolest 20 min of animation I've ever seen.

It brought me back to my worship of Heavy Metal when it came out in the 80s.

I am sorry to ruin the surprise for you but the head of naughty dog is king woke of video games. He totally wokified tlou2. He wanted to do the same with tlou1 but his boss at the time reined him in. The whole reason we got a full gay episode of the hbo series is because he wanted to do that in the game, but his boss at the time knew better. Now he is in charge so he is full bore with wokifying his games. No one wants to play as an ugly bald black woman with attitude of I am badass just because I am a black woman. It is going to go down in flames as Concord and Avowed.

The great thing about gaming is that there are SO MANY studios out there, with so many indie devs. If a studio releases a woke abomination, it tanks and people are fired. It's very simple: make games gamers want to play. When you don't, you fail. When you do, you make bank.

There is no gaming hegemon that can stifle game devs that don't cater to woke bs. Fortunately, the smaller devs are still making great games and will hopefully continue to do so.

This is a lazy argument. Coming from someone who has experience in the games industry, there are MANY reasons why a game that doesn't sell well isn't performing well, and the opposite is true for the unicorns.

Hah. Yeah you aren't ruining the surprise... I'm aware of what you are talking about, I just didn't want to go on a rant.

The look and vibe of their upcoming space game is right up my alley... But yeah, it looks likely that they are going to ruin it.

I'm sure the 'modern audience' will show up this time though.

That's a fantastic way to describe the 1st one.

I think I remember the gunplay being sorta lame and not paced well with the rest of the game. You'd do a bit of exploring and then come up to a clearing with multiple cover points signaling "here comes a fight". Rinse and repeat.

But the voice acting was really good and writing was good enough to warrant a sequel.

Fairly accurate. I'm half way through 1 after downloading Sat night (it's a fairly short game it seems), but I will say it holds up extremely well and is a great game. I thought there would be a pretty big gap between 1 and 4 but there actually isn't. Even only playing 4 and halfway through 1 the voice acting and writing in these games is stellar and having the same actors through all 4 games gets you really tied into the characters.

I think my 3 favorite "try not to overthink it... it's just a game" parts of the Uncharted Series:

1. The mechanical contraptions capable of moving a few hundred tons of stone still work (hundreds of years later) every time Drake solves an important puzzle.

2. Drake apparently always takes the hardest routes possible full of impossible jumps and death traps, finally entering an ancient/secret chamber... and then a bunch of bad guys casually walk in as part of their normal patrol.

3. Drake during enemy encounters: Kills 50 men. Drake during cut scenes: "Guys, it's just a treasure, there's no reason for anybody to get hurt".

I am almost done with outer worlds DLC and it drags a bit. Even on hard the combat is too easy with maxed hvy weapons.

Back into Helldivers 2 and really enjoying it again. New faction is pretty fun.

Also bought Vegas for a buck and Outer Worlds 2 for 40% off with tbe steam sale so I should be good for a while.
