Not ready to throw in the towel on Guyton just yet. The second round is traditionally the head scratching pick.

Apparently Micah was trying to recruit Pickens to the Packers during the ProBowl.

I could see the Jets signing Malik Willis. The dude looked legit solid to me when he played this year. He looks to have turned the corner and gained some confidence.

Out of curiosity, I was looking at the 2026 Salary Cap situation for Dallas & the league. So we are 4 spots removed from being dead last sitting at -$31 million.

Now I know there are a lot of things that can be done and moved around, but when you look at the negative cap and then look at the dead money we are sitting on.... how in the absolute hell is the talent (or lack there of) on this team enough to put us $31 million in the hole!

Am I missing something here, because I was under the impression that we were in somewhat decent shape cap wise. This appears to be the burning house meme with Jerry sitting at the table "This is fine".

Oh I get it... but I was told the Eagles had done this exact thing and completely over leveraged their future for "win now" teams. According to this site, they have $9 mil in space and we are $31 mil in the hole. How... just how is that possible when you compare both rosters in recent years which led to the current cap situation.

And the two teams in the SB are #5 and #8 on the list with huge caps to work with.

This is what I pointed to several pages back and the response was "the cap goes up.." or something crazy

QB counts $78m against the cap
WR counts $38m
WR2 will count a minimum of $30m
OG counts $28m
3 DTs that all cost about 21.5m
Steele at 18m
Bland 17.5
Ferg 10.5

That's about $285 alone. 24-25m in dead cap?

Cap is projected to be 300-306

I guess they can cut Clark and save some money but he's one I actually think is worth it. Steele saves us $10m

Hooker is $7M that is probably gone and Logan wilson is 6.5 with no dead money so that's probably an easy call. Add in Steele's $9M savings and you're nearly back to even.

Anybody know how many snaps Simpson had in college? He didn't start until his senior year right?

Once again, Darren Woodson is overlooked for the HoF.

They put in Adam Vinatieri. Come on.

Just sitting back waiting for Jerry to screw up the Pickens contract extension

He already did.

I'd love it if we can find a way to get Myles to Dallas.

I actually don't think franchise tagging Pickens is a bad idea at all. You could make a real argument that if we have another year not making the playoffs, that you hit the full on rebuild button (and draft a QB in 2027), and not locking yourself into two WRs making 25+ million per year is a great piece of business. Would make zero since to pay two guys like that massive money and be rebuilding.

I want zero part of Kenneth Walker. There's a reason he was relegated to spot duty.

Pretty wild how people can watch these two teams and still think "Yeah, Dak Prescott is the reason the Cowboys can't get back to the Super Bowl".

One team is so scared their QB is gonna turn it over and lose the game they aren't letting him do anything, and the other is on pace for literally the worst statistical day for a QB in the SB since the 1970s.

He's just flawed because of the pass pro and pass catching stuff, that's all.

Maybe but he also showed he isn't great at pass protection and catching the ball. Seems clear why Charbonnet got a bunch of touches

The issues with Lawrence were one, his health and two, he is a scheme and personnel dependent player. He is only worth the price he gets paid if he's in the right scheme and surrounded by the right players. He does not himself elevate the players around him. He's 5 tech who lost his burst years ago and needs scheme and assistance to consistently be a player who can contribute as a down to down pass rusher. Now he has always been a GREAT run defender, but he gets paid like an a high end pass rusher and he just isn't that on his own.

Good for him but he would have been next to useless in Dallas this year with our scheme and personnel. Seattle was a perfect fit for him, he gets to contribute to an elite run defense and gets to pass rush on an island against tight ends or get free runs at the QB due to scheme.

Very well said. He disappeared at times this season and I imagine this is why. I always attributed this to him taking plays off. Maybe he just needed the right play calls. But to be fair to the man he made the difference in several key wins. His hustle play against the Vikings in a tight game was the momentum swing. I'll be sad to see him retire.

I don't know about the rest of them, but Dak will not count $78m against the cap next year. It will be around $40m when they move stuff around.
