Yep. Stupidest policy decision. Almost as stupid as that Fraud Kristi Noem when she ended TPS. Yet nobody investigating her $220 million ad dollars.
I know the Woke Right and Git'em Out crowd celebrate this decision by Trump…..but this is stupid and affects American Citizens. Oh, and get Stephen Miller out and primary Brandon "I married an Indian " Gill

why do you favor non-Americans over Americans? Why do you hate your fellow Americans? Have you adopted an illegal family yet and use your money to fund their living.
This is what we voted for. None of these non-citizens would die for America. They just want our money so they can send it back to their family in a 3rd world hellhole.

Andrew Ng is a famous respected AI expert but he is woke as well.
It's funny how little these people care about American families. Everyone seems to worry about Ramesh and RajeshThe new White House policy requiring green card applicants to apply from outside the US is a capricious attack on legal immigration. It will hurt families, leave us with fewer doctors, teachers and scientists, and hurt American competitiveness in AI.

Good now do this for H1B extensions. You should not be here more than 3 years on an H1B.
What I want:
1. 12 month phase out of H1B. Companies have to hire locally and train as needed.
2. Stop greencard processing for H1B. No, you cannot be a US citizen.
3. If an H1B loses their job, they get 2 weeks to GTFO. Not 60 days. No severance. Anything given will be taxed 200% and company fined. No transferring of status to B1/B2 and then back to H1B by the scammers.
4. Create a NEW law for really smart geniuses, not basement bargain dumpster trash.
We want Indians like this guy. 1299 patents in tech. I have not verified but I am sure it is somewhere high.India trains the engineer.

America files the patents.
Gurtej Sandhu was raised in Amritsar and trained at IIT Delhi.
He now holds 1,299 US patents at Micron, Edison topped out at 1,093.
Sandhu is the 7th most prolific inventor in American history.

Another idiot move against American Citizens, their spouses and children. People who did it the right way. Legally.
The Right Woke is getting really stupid. Most green-card applicants will need to go abroad to apply for permanent residency at an American consulate, rather than filing from within the U.S. as they do now, the Trump administration announced Friday. https://t.co/mTQSCLMRUK

What American Citizens?
American Citizens who sponsored a spouse. Or American Citizens who have friendships with people who are doing it the LEGAL way.
Congress needs to do immigration reform. The Git Them Out crowd needs to be sidelined

Jobs like 1st Lady?
Or how about American students…..Trump gave preferential treatment to Chinese Communist Party students…..you know…as a bargaining chip with Dictator Xi.

This affects US citizens marrying non US citizens.
I really don't care about the others. But we should make an exception for US born Americans.
Or we need to put them in the front of the queue. Processing can take 2-3 years.
We shouldn't let rules made for legal immigrants screw US citizens.
Quote:
That's the problem and it does screw US citizens and their children with the green card spouse.

Post docs are more commonly hired as J-1 visa holders or on OPT from their F-1 student visa. At least these days. Then if they get hired as a scientist or Professor they apply for H-1B since they are no longer a student.
H-1 B by definition is for a "uniquely qualified" individual to fill a specific role and there is a statement somewhere that it is not meant for those seeking citizenship (ha). Then they always seem to extend the H-1B and then apply for green card.
