Now again, can that go too far? Sure, if they prioritize politicizing above story that rarely works. But take something like Blue Eye Samurai. It's by any definition extremely "woke", centered around themes of gender roles, sexuality, and race. But it's executed exceptionally well and pretty universally praised.
If a less skilled creator tried to do the same thing, they might fail miserably. But that doesn't mean their goals were any different.

And I think this statement shows that you and I dont agree on what "woke" is. By no definition would I call Blue Eye Samurai "woke". She's not a Mary Sue. Everything about her character feels earned, through careful storytelling and character building. She's incredibly flawed but multifaceted and a fully fleshed out character.
This statement is what many on the left project onto us. It's why every crazy actress these days starts posting preemptive crap about audiences rejecting their movie. The vast majority of people complaining about woke and DEI have NEVER been against stories about women. Most of us LOVE the character of Ripley, or The Bride, and many other strong female characters. We dont believe having a female or black lead makes a movie "woke". We also arent against stories about gay characters. I love The Birdcage and Green Book.
Honestly, this statement of your's shows a glaring misunderstanding as to what woke is.

We didn't even learn he was gay until deep into season 2 (I think?) when he wakes up in bed with a man.
The difference between this and 'woke' shows that shove 'inclusion' down your throat is in a woke show, you find out he's gay because there will be a full-frontal scene of gay sex early on in the show.
God, that is SO good. How was it perceived by "Hollywood" I wonder. You see a lot of smug faces in the crowd but also hear a lot of laughs/cheers.maroon barchetta said:

Yeah, it's a comedy bit. Like every comedy bit, there are strands of truth in the joke. Sometimes really big strands.

Guessing most of them take themselves too seriously to realize.

I mean they had him host five times and he made similar style jokes each time. Clearly it wasn't that outrageous.

He went off that last time though in a manner I had never seen him do before if I remember correctly. Wasn't just a couple of little jabs. It clearly was different as it went pretty viral. Also, has been invited back since?

He said he it was his last time he would host during his opener in 2020. Not sure if they tried to get him back despite that.

Went to Mario Galaxy today. Holy crap it was loud. Like uncomfortably loud. I think I might be joining team stream at home. Bad experience and really effin expensive.

Pulp Fiction writer Roger Avary on what's behind Hollywood's embrace of wokeness:

"I think a lot of it has to do with the preponderance of female executives that are working at the broadcasters and at the studios.

there's some cut up videos of him discussing this during a stand up show and when he talks about having to give the monologue ahead of time to a room of 10 lawyers it's friekin hilarious!1981 Monte Carlo said:schmendeler said:1981 Monte Carlo said:schmendeler said:Sooper Jeenyus said:God, that is SO good. Well he's telling a bunch of self worshiping narcissists to stop preaching like they know what the hell they are talking about, so I am assuming most didn't like it….even many who are laughing out loud. People are free to think most of them loved being called out though I guess.

So its sexist and ****ty to acknowledge men and women work and think differently? Granted, he hasn't presented any facts to back up his theory - buts its plausible given that men and women (in general) do not think/work in exactly the same way or with the same motivations.

He's not saying men and women think differently. He is talking about a problem as he sees it and blames women for it.
