In the last couple episodes of the first season, the son did some actual landman work. Research on ownership, meeting mineral owners, making deals etc. Although, I laughed out loud at the landowner that he went and talked to that owned both the minerals and the surface, single ownership & signed on the spot. THAT does not happen.
Other than that & the sheer volume of driving that Tommy does, I've seen very little landmand work.
The amount of driving could be solved just by doing a simple Teams/Zoom call here and there

No kidding. Every episode, it seems like Tommy goes from Midland-Ft Worth-Midland-Ft Worth-MIdland in one damn day. And he drives every mile. "Tommy! I need you in Ft Worth. We need to talk." "Yes Ma'am. Be there shortly". We have cell phones and computers, people.

When that scene first came on I told my wife "dammit, more spinning horses".
They're kinda running out of parts of the show that keep my interest. Any actual oilfield related stuff I like. Interaction with Thornton and Andy Garcia characters are pretty good.
Tired of: * Wife and daughter (I still fast forward through any scene they are in)
* Even the normally enjoyable Sam Elliott is
kind of a grind
* Already had enough of the meet-cute with
the attorney and Aussie geologist
* Tommy and the abuelita

When Sam Elliot starting crying about how his body "didn't nourish the baby" I cringed so hard I almost dropped my drink.
I have never heard any masculine male talk that way.

I gotta say, I enjoyed the truck ride scene between Tommy & his dad. Some of my best memories with my dad were long rides like that.
Also, the lawyer is well....getting hotter.
parks and rec didn't ruin him for you over a decade ago?!TSUAggie said:
This show has also just about ruined Sam Elliot for me. Used to love that guy but this character is annoying the **** out of me.

Unless that plane is just scheduled to go back and forth each day and it's like a taxi. I dunno. Seems like a waste for a company in some financial straits.

Yeah but the lawyer chick wasn't going shopping.

They had no issue killing off Kevin Costner in Yellowstone.

I personally enjoy seeing places I frequent on a regular basis on TV. Even the Shell station Cooper called his mother from in the last episode is right off US 287 on my way to work.
The character I enjoy who I'd like to see more of is James Jordan (Dale). He was good in Yellowstone and this show too. He's really funny.
