Well, they aren't married yet. I get that it's a company house. Where were they living before? Have I said how much i don't like either of them?

They were living outside FW, Aledo if I'm remembering right. Ali Larter's character was married(?) to someone else and then her and Ainsley moved out there

Every single storyline has me rolling my eyes. The wife, the daughter, Ariana, Demi's character, and the actual O&G operations as well. They employ a ton of dumbasses at TexOil or whatever it's called. Worst luck of any oil company in history, and it's always STUPID stuff. Like not using a brass hammer to loosen the bolt and causing a spark that ignites the well, standing on top of a pile of pipes on an 18 wheeler and then rolling off and getting crushed, an 18 wheeler driving straight into a brightly lit full size truck and tipping over.

I work for an upstream service provider and I can count a single death within our company in the last 3 years, and that death was in a warehouse. Not even out in the field.

While I agree, smooth operations without drama doesn't make much of a tv show.

Cooper not taking that greasy hat off his nappy head at the dinner table, was a bridge too far for this Texan.

The stupid plane ride scenes were pretty cringy. And she got so drunk in 45 minutes that she couldn't remember how she got in the guy's bed.

Word. And, it looked like they landed at the same airport they took off from.

I learned a new term. I think it was in the 3rd episode. "Botched Blow Job"

And, how you can't talk on the phone afterwards…

Cooper and baby momma are unwatchable.

My wife asked last night are you watching or reading TexAgs? Busted

OMG, Coop's girlfriend is unbelievable. Don't tell him to leave if you don't want him to leave.

We're trying to teach boys that no means no. She said no, I don't want you here.

If it wasn't for Billy Bob Thornton, this show would be unwatchable. The wife and daughter are so over the top bat **** crazy that they alone almost ruin the entire show.

TSU Aggie: 100% agree! I could be dead wrong, but no one is that dumb or lacking that much self-awareness.
When the truth comes out, do not ask me how I knew.
Ask yourself why you did not.

Well…learned that Midland has a Hollywood movie set company that can turn your house into a movie set from the Pirates of the Caribbean and full costumes for everyone in just an afternoon

ETA - the boy better run because Ariana likes to jerk his chain and play mind games.

It's becoming like the later seasons of Yellowstone where the crazy women story lines take over the whole show and make it hard to watch...

And she "doesn't believe in divorce", which means when that marriage goes south and the crazy Latina comes out.....becoming a widow again is the only option.

He's hosed. Dealing with a power hungry fanatic woman owner that wants to use him to prove how badarse she is, and a power hungry woman lawyer and a Cartel Boss and a crazy wife. He should take Dale and Nate and his son and run and start their own oil company.

Most painful thing for me to watch was Demi pour out a bottle of Pappy on Monty's grave.

NO *****!!!! I screamed at the TV and my wife was like WTF?

"they just poured a $1000 bottle of booze on a man's grave!"

That was a sinful act with the Pappy. Oh, Demi's accent is SPOT ON.

I think Tommy's, Nate's, and Dale's characters are pretty spot on outside of the day in/ day out crazy drama the show throws at them. My dad was an Oil Production Manager for a Mid Size oilfield company in West Texas. I would say he was a combination of Tommy and Dale's character. Most of the drama he dealt with though was related to equipment failure, and managing drilling and well servicing crews -making sure they did the job right, giving them advice, etc.

He had to deal with occasional theft issues, crazy landowners with guns/ vicious dogs, etc, or accidents where employees got hurt, but that kind of stuff wasn't happening every dang day like in the show.

there are three men - grandfather, father and son. And each has, or had, a relationship with a high spirited woman.

they compare and contrast those three men and their relationships with their women.

I noticed in the last episode Tommy called himself a Landman. In what world is he a Landman? I was convinced the title of the show was a reference to his son, who actually did some Landman stuff.

In the land of make believe on tv. Again, not a documentary.

It's not like it would negate the entire show if they referred to him by what he actually is. He's operations, not Landman.

In the last couple episodes of the first season, the son did some actual landman work. Research on ownership, meeting mineral owners, making deals etc. Although, I laughed out loud at the landowner that he went and talked to that owned both the minerals and the surface, single ownership & signed on the spot. THAT does not happen.

Other than that & the sheer volume of driving that Tommy does, I've seen very little landmand work.

The amount of driving could be solved just by doing a simple Teams/Zoom call here and there

No trip to the titty bar after the Permian Basin Oil Show? Taylor Sheridan missed a prime opportunity there.
