Every single storyline has me rolling my eyes. The wife, the daughter, Ariana, Demi's character, and the actual O&G operations as well. They employ a ton of dumbasses at TexOil or whatever it's called. Worst luck of any oil company in history, and it's always STUPID stuff. Like not using a brass hammer to loosen the bolt and causing a spark that ignites the well, standing on top of a pile of pipes on an 18 wheeler and then rolling off and getting crushed, an 18 wheeler driving straight into a brightly lit full size truck and tipping over.
I work for an upstream service provider and I can count a single death within our company in the last 3 years, and that death was in a warehouse. Not even out in the field.

The stupid plane ride scenes were pretty cringy. And she got so drunk in 45 minutes that she couldn't remember how she got in the guy's bed.

TSU Aggie: 100% agree! I could be dead wrong, but no one is that dumb or lacking that much self-awareness.

you ever met a woman?

If it wasn't for Billy Bob Thornton, this show would be unwatchable. The wife and daughter are so over the top bat **** crazy that they alone almost ruin the entire show.

ETA - the boy better run because Ariana likes to jerk his chain and play mind games.

Most painful thing for me to watch was Demi pour out a bottle of Pappy on Monty's grave.

She'll probably come into play at some point in dealing with the Andy Garcia cartel boss.

I noticed in the last episode Tommy called himself a Landman. In what world is he a Landman? I was convinced the title of the show was a reference to his son, who actually did some Landman stuff.
O.G. said:
In the last couple episodes of the first season, the son did some actual landman work. Research on ownership, meeting mineral owners, making deals etc. Although, I laughed out loud at the landowner that he went and talked to that owned both the minerals and the surface, single ownership & signed on the spot. THAT does not happen.
Other than that & the sheer volume of driving that Tommy does, I've seen very little landmand work.
