First sign of optimism for next year

He was just released a few minutes ago

Wasn't he contract over end of last month anyways

Was over at the end of June

Time for coach to build something now.

No inheriting players, quick filling staff roles.

His people across the board - sink or swim time.

Braunny had said that don't be surprised if it's a quick filled role. This is largely due to the fact that you'll need a good pitching coach to recruit these players during the portal. I definitely think that they have had replacements in mind and lined up for a while. Additionally, Braunny mentioned pro staff being an option for the new pitching coach, which is what Wiener came from…small optimism.

I just hope that we can have a lot of people who spelled his name Kelley take the E from that misspell and add it to the misspelling of EARLEY now that that extra E is no longer here

Just delaying the inevitable here.

Often a head coach's best staff is his first one. Just 2 years later, they are all gone. All that is left is the head coach.

Pitching - Jason Kelly
Hitting - Caleb Longley
Assistant - Will Fox
S&C - Jeremy McMillan

but at least it's getting done this year so the firing of the coordinator cannot be used next year.

Offensive oriented had the best offense in the SEC and set records through 52 games. Unfortunately the same offense had 2 bad games at the end of the season. Don't think you can question his offensive coaching, to be fair he's not the one swinging at the plate….

Yeah, he had Grahovac, Sorrell and Hacopian swinging at the plate. Any team in the country would love to have even one of those guys. Also I would hope that coaching extended until the last games of the season.

The question is whether or not a high quality pitching coach will come to A&M knowing there is a very good chance it's just a one year gig? We already have that chode in Austin telling recruits our head coach is going to get fired...are we going to be able to attract high level assistants and recruits (or retain the players we want to retain) under the cloud of a coach possibly on his way out a year from now?

Earley has his work cut out for him. Hope he's up to the task.

Not last night they went a combined 1-11. He isn't telling them when to swing the bat. It's unfortunate they had a bad offensive game

Nice of them to wait until after lunch so he could have one last meal.

You're right....Earley probably told them to hit the ball and they didn't. They should really listen better.

He might not be swinging the bat, but I do think a team not handling the pressure well when it matters the most is lot to do with coaching. If your team tightens up every time the postseason gets intense you're never going to go all the way

And the guy who made that terrible hire just 18 months ago, is currently in charge of making the same hire again? Should we feel good about this? A business consultant would advise you that while the result is now gone, the problem is still here and you're choosing to ignore it.

I could be wrong, but I believe Trev wanted the pitching coach to have head coach experience so he could help Earley out with advice. Both Earley getting the job and Kelly joining his staff was announced the same day

I don't think Earley handpicked Kelly the way he is going to be responsible for this next hire.

Earley will bring back Max Weiner, we are going to be fine.
