The good news is that SWTS used their best arms to beat USC. I'm sure several of those guys will pitch again, but turning the rest of the regional into a slugfest bodes well for us.

Based on some reliable info I received yesterday after our game, let's just say we should probably expect to be without Aiden Sims the rest of the way. I think Moss starting tonight makes that pretty evident.

When guys get shut down due to tendon and ligament soreness, it's usually more like a couple months rather than a couple weeks. I don't have any insights into Sim's injury, but it seems pretty apparent he's done for the year.

Hope this isn't Earley trying to be cute with saving Sims.

Tx State has proven they can hit as well as anybody and off of anybody. Not a good situation to be pitching off against when you have 2 dead bats in the lineup.

I have only heard him say he has been throwing in practice. I have not heard him say pitching. Small nuance, but could be meaningful

and then in the fall he'll officially need surgery and he'll be gone another year+

I'm Earley's TexAgs interview Thursday, he said that Sims threw 25 pitches off the mound earlier this week. My guess is that we will see him for an inning or two at some point this weekend.

Not knowing anything else that is my hope. You win game 2 and even if you only get 3 rom Sims you are able to go all in.

I am still pissed he who shall not be named saved pitching in game 2 for a potential game 3 instead of using that bullet late in game 2.

At this point, if Sims is cleared to pitch at all, I suspect the prognosis is he's allowed to throw 1-2 innings at most.

Letting him sit until fall and doing the surgery at that point is the coaching malpractice. Remember Shane did not have surgery immediately they waited. I think that's a large portion of why Shane hasn't looked as sharp this year. Did not have as much time as most to recover / rehab.

They have also said that the recovery takes longer now because they changed the way they did the surgery for better results long term.

Hate to break it to you, but surgery is not the call of the coaching staff. These players are getting advice from outside doctors and trainers in addition to the in house medical staff. It's not like Sdao met Jason Kelly for the first time and Kelly told him to hold off on surgery and Sdao just said yeah ok sir yes sir.
