Disaster averted. Biggest things to clean up seem to be starting pitching and baserunning.

As far as the starting pitching goes, I would only go with Lessentine and Peters as starters in the SEC and against top 25 opponents in these tournaments using Munnerlyn and Pannell as a change of pace one time thru the order if needed. Sparks can go longer than that but is often either totally on or off.

As for baserunning, the majority of the problems seem to come from the pinch runners. This can get over looked at practice as you talk through it but may not put enough time into game situations where you have a split second to make the decision. I'm guessing they start to make the pinch runners get a lot dirtier at practice in live situations.

Four more top 25 matchups next weekend in Palm Springs, California against #7 UCLA, #8 Nebraska, #14 Oregon, and once again against #19 Duke. Other games are against UC-San Diego and Loyola Marymount.

Here is to some clean starts on the mound in those games where we don't always find ourselves in an early hole to dig out of.
