He got in trouble yesterday when, after reading a promo for upcoming hockey games on ESPN, the play by play guy (who works with him in Baltimore) asked Ben if he was going to watch any hockey (knowing that his coonasx partner would be out hunting as soon as as his baseball broadcasting was done today), and McDonald responded, "There is zero chance I'll be watching; I'm just gonna be honest with you." That pissed off the hockey folks at ESPN

That's pretty funny

I don't like Ben McDonald but I'll take him over Karl Ravich 8 days a week

It is weird to me that Boog Sciambi was at the Dodgers v Reds while the Cubs are still playing

Did they say anything about it? I heard the comment live but didn't hear anything from the hockey people. He's great doing baseball and I've never heard him say anything that's alleged here.

He 1,000% claimed during a broadcast that the Raggies threw beer and batteries at him when LSU played here....it was probably 10 years ago on a broadcast and I couldn't believe that he said it when I heard it

Very unprofessional of him to tweet a comment like that about his colleague. I don't think Ben saying there was no chance he'd be watching hockey isn't so bad. Not everyone likes hockey! I guess it would have sounded better if he'd said "probably not." But there was no malice in it. It certainly wasn't bad enough to deserve such a mean-spirited tweet from a colleague, lol!

Agreed.
I love baseball, and appreciate honest and transparent commentary. On the other side, I also enjoy hockey, but Bucci needs to take a look in the mirror, and be honest about the viewership market.
