And also not getting pissed off giving up a breakaway basket because point were always at such a premium
I had a hard time keeping up, everything was moving around a lot more and way more points than I've been accustomed to.

That's the response I was hoping for! We won't have quite as many opportunities for an offensive rebound this season.
It was nice to lead the country in offensive rebounding until you dug in to why we got so many offensive rebound opportunities lol

What's funnier is we still rebounded like half our misses tonight so we still had an elite offensive rebound percentage.

I definitely found myself at times getting mad that we didn't look "sharp" or organized rebounding the ball on either end … I think it's going to take me a couple games to train that out of me. I'm so used to seeing it look a very specific way over the last 5 years.
I also shouted "no!" on 4-5 three pt attempts just out of habit, thinking they were bad shots … they weren't, and we made them all.

Actual ball movement by passing … I had forgotten about it.
Was impressed with Lane, Hill, and Agee. No one looked bad imo. Isaacs looked a little out of synch imo but has been injured so maybe that's all it was .getting back to game speed thing.

I think there's a lot that some people get wrong about Buzz's approach to the game but that's one we can definitely all agree on and that anyone who knows ball at all was complaining about his entire time here. Our passing was absolutely horrific.

Buzz's team last year was much better to start the season than this team is right now, I don't even think it's particularly close, but this team is good at some things that gave that team trouble.
But last year's team beat a team that plays a lot like us and was much more experience at it (Creighton).

Maybe the better question is who would win between this yrs game 1 Maryland team vs this yrs Buckyball team? Maryland struggled a bit in the 1s t half vs Coppin St although pulled away in 2nd. Mills and Payne went off. Solo is in a boot. Payne would be a problem for us imo.
With all of their hurt guys I think we'd win fairly easily. Plus it's early in Buzz installing his defense and even though he took some of our guys with him there's no way they're very good at it yet. We'd get open looks all night.
It will be interesting to see who ends up better this season though, the nerds have us projected pretty close to each other to start the year. If I had to guess right now I'd think we end up better than they do.
I bet they lose to Georgetown on Friday.

When you have this much offense, just a few key defensive plays seem like a ton!
You mean a team that was just assembled months ago hasn't developed the chemistry that a team that had played together for years under the same coach?

Aside from your captain obvious statement- it remains true that what we saw game 1 was a better product than what Buzz put on the floor. And we're not insulting the players from last season. We saw a team coached to play basketball in all facets, not just defense.
