What Winter Rye Seed would you suggest be used to overseed a lawn for zone 9a in Austin? Looking for a nice lawn we can enjoy over the next few months. Appreciate any recommendations on which seed to use as it's been quite a few years since I've done this.

Thanks!

use an annual seed. dies off quickly in the spring and doesn't inhibit st augustine growth.Had a neighbor use perennial a couple of years ago and his grass hasn't looked good since.

Perennial is better and prettier but you need to nuke it in March/April otherwise it will screw up the Bermuda all the way into late June. I used this one last year and have nothing negative to say about it. I'm trying to wait a little longer to do mine since it's still so hot during the day and the evening lows are just now dipping into the 60's consistently. My Bermuda is still growing like it's June and ideally you would wait until you see a noticeable slowing in growth.
