It sounds like Skubal dictated his usage, and he wanted to get back to camp. So he was used where he dictated his own availability.

the nationality eligibility requirements are pretty loose. besides citizens, if either of your parents were born there or live there, or if you can prove you're eligible for citizenship for a country, you can play for them

Not playing our best roster before it's locked up is so dumb it hurts. He decided to play with fire and it may cost the best lineup ever constructed to not even make it out of Pool play. Unreal choke job

It's runs allowed per defensive out among the teams that are tied. So, it would only be among USA, MEX, and ITA.

We need to win first, but if we don't win, we need to score runs and not let Italy score the rest of the night.

Or, let's just win tonight and not worry about it.
