Wilson is the toughest guy to project in my opinion. He's a freak athlete, a demon on the boards and proficient around the rim, but he's not a stretch big, not a good ball handler for the most part, and he's got tons of development left to do.

Like I said above, Dybantsa is the only non-guard I would be interested in because I think his game will continue to get better as a true wing, and pairing him and Flagg together would be hellaish to play against.

I'm not super high on Ament either, but I think he's more skilled than Kyle Anderson lol. Agree on the fit with Flagg. A 6'10" guy who isn't a skilled ball handler but also wants the bal... I think I'd compare him to a less flamethrower-y MPJ.

His shooting percentages have gone up in conference play, which you like to see. He's at 37% from 3 in conference. He's probably the right pick if the Mavs end up at 9, but given the other options, he'd be a reach at anything higher, for me.

Yeah Wilson is the best defensive, non-center in the draft and his mid range game and inside scoring are elite. The 3 point shot is all projection at this point. He takes 1 per game at 26%, and he only shoots 71% from the FT line. It's not terrible, but it's not what you want to see when trying to project.

I guess what we're talking about is as close to Amen Thompson defensively/athletically as you can get, with less ball handling, but more efficient scoring.

If the Mavs end up with Wilson, it would make drafting one of the shorter guards like Tanner or Okorie later in the draft much more palatable. Or someone like Meleek Thomas who isn't short, but isn't known for defense.

I'm also really glad the Mavs were able get back in this first round, even if it is at the very back.

There are lots of good players to be had in all different ages, shapes, and sizes in that range. Guys I like are Isaiah Evans (moving up boards and unlikely to be there at this point), Dailyn Swain, Morez Johnson, and Joshua Jefferson.

Johnson and Jefferson are clunkyish 4s and maybe Johnson has to be a shorter 5, but everything about their advanced numbers say they impact the game as much as any player in the draft. Top 10 players in the country according to most advanced metrics.

Another guy that people are starting to pick up on is Allen Graves at Santa Clara.

Advanced metrics darling, but he doesn't even start and plays less than 23 minutes per game. 6'9" and appears to have ridiculous length, though not super athletic. Over 40% from 3, almost 3:1 assist to turnover (4:1 in conference), and 3.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per 40 minutes. Has also gotten better as the season has gone on, with two solid games against Gonzaga. Would be a great pick at the back of the first round.

This is his RSFr year, so maybe he transfers to a bigger school before coming out next year. Could be one of the guys who benefits from NIL by staying in college and going to the draft in the down 2027 year where he could be a lottery pick.

Sabonis: Has had a back injury all year. Undergoes season-ending knee surgery last day of the all-star break.

Lots of people apparently pissed that Cooper Flagg went to Dallas.
