You see 9 goals and think no defense. But there were some truly incisive passes and technical finishes.

Both teams consistently played the ball forward. Went after it. **** was fun. We all watch a ton of premier league. You never see stuff like this in the Premier league.

One thing for sure, it was stunning how many shots there were that neither GK (but especially Neuer) had zero chance to do anything. They were hung out to dry in some situations, and in others it was just a world class goal.

If Kimmich would have equalized at the end this would be one of the greatest legs ever played.

I think it sets up really well for the match next week. I wouldn't be surprised to see PSG play a bit more conservative and counter attacking than normal.

I'm biased but Liverpool 4-0 over Barcelona is was pretty great. I also highly enjoyed the Bayern 8-2 over Barca and the Tottenham-Ajax second leg in 18-19 was pretty great as well.

For all out attacking football though I cant remember a game better than this.

I thought it was just a bit too "irresponsible" - to quote the commentator. It was glorious, for sure, but I prefer games that are more well-rounded. I think I might get just as pumped up by great saves and blocks as I do by goals.

So games like Real Madrid - Bayern (first leg) this year are better in my book. Tons of offense and lots of chances created but fewer goals actually conceded due to last-minute defending and saves. Those are my favorite kinds of games.

Neuer made 0 saves in 39 touches for the entire game. 1st GK with 0 saves in a UCL KO match since 2010.

Yeah he showed his age on a few of them, IMO. He was amazing in that RM first leg, but he's made errors since then… wonder if he's just flat worn out now.

Yea he did. Word is he was older than the everyone on the referee crew for the game yesterday as well. SO he was literally the oldest person on the field.

Honestly the game went better than I thought it'd go because Atletico at least had a pulse offensively. Excluding the pens, xG was 1.43 - 0.72. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but not loathsomely dull either.

That Griezmann shot hitting off the post might be difference that puts Arsenal through.

Yellow card outside the box had to be deliberate (I don't have sound on, so I don't know what commentary is saying). Free kick outside the box, which was given. Would've been a pen inside the box because his arm was away from his body. Are they saying it should have been a card? (And assuming I'm thinking of the thing you guys are talking about and not something else lol).

The Mendes one was rightly waived off due to a handball by Laimer immediately before.

The one in the box probably should've been a pen though. I get that coming off a clearance is kinda harsh, but if that had happened anywhere else on the field it would've been called.

Rewatched it. Yeah he's literally putting his arms up to shield himself from his teammate's crappy clearance that nearly took his head off. It's unnatural (though understandable), he's making his body bigger, and if you want to go off the old rule, it's absolutely intentional. Harsh, but you can blame the crappy clearance.
