Love to see it. Tards managed to become the laughing stock of college sports just like that.

Article states Big 12 presidents, expected to meet this week, have the ability to penalize conference members for "actions detrimental to the conference."

I think the new Pac is recruiting if tech needs to move on from the Big12 for greener pastures, since no-one wants to play with them anymore.

TTU will sue, and some judge (somewhere) will force the teams to play.

Tech is now in a box. If they decide not to play Sorsby, then he probably sues for his millions too.

While true, don't direct your derision at the teams doing the virtue signaling. They are doing what's within their control. Direct it at teams that DO have tech on their schedule if they do not take action

It will be interesting to see if there is actually any true boycott and not just talk of "contact the athletic department before scheduling"

How this season plays out for them is going to be determined by the Big 12 meeting. Looks like their out of conference opponents are ACU, Oregon State, and Sam Houston. ACU and Sam Houston being FCS schools on the road could both probably use the money and could be unlikely to want to take a moral stand. Oregon State is part of the reformed PAC 12 but that conference is no longer a power 5 conference after the defections to the Big 10 and Big 12. There is no out of conference flagship game on their schedule with a team who could make a big statement by refusing to play them.

I have a tough time thinking any of the other schools in the Big 12 will support Tech in this matter. If their own conference won't play them then they'll have to remove him or they not only face a schedule of forfeit only W's but an entire roster of players who will lose an entire season of football. There could be potential mutiny if the players realize their season is in jeopardy. I can't imagine any playoff voters would put them through either.

I'm really surprised at the judge's ruling but it makes this whole situation 100X more interesting now.

That's not a decision that gets made by our AD. Public universities in Texas have more consdierations than the B!G or Georgia and Florida.

It could happen, but Trev isn't making that call on his own. The Regents would certainly have to have input, as well as the Governor, Legislature and maybe the THECB.

our AD does not need to talk to anyone or get permission from anyone on who to schedule or not schedule

I don't need a virtue signal from Albers saying we aren't going to schedule them. We aren't going to ever schedule them in football for the foreseeable future anyway. doubtful for any sport really.

While I agree and just to clarify, the th mandate is across all sports.
I don’t say this in a braggedocious way. But it’s true. I’ve been right about everything.

Tech hosts Abilene Christian and Sam Houston early in the season, with a road trip to Corvalis to face Oregon State. ACU and SH are probably locked in, but could Oregon State buy out that September 12 game?

Oh, and their schedule is hot garbage. They get Cougar High and ASU in Lubbock, and miss BYU entirely.

I'm sure Oregon State needs the money a lot more than they need to make a statement on Texas Tech

If you're an AD with Tech on the schedule this year, wouldn't it make sense to cancel an away game scheduled to play in Lubbock and not piss off your fan base that travels for home games, assuming that there's money being put up to buy yourself out of a game?
What penalties are in place for canceling on a game this far out?

I don't understand the first question here, who is being pissed off and why? The fan base is traveling for home games?

If you flake out on your road half of a home and home agreement, I would assume it's pretty severe.

In my scenario, cancel an away game. Sure, the 2,000 Oregon St fans that for some reason decided that Lubbock is a town worth visiting for an away game would be miffed.
But, there would be 30,000 angry Oregon St fans angry at a home game being canceled, plus the local Corvallis businesses.
I'm sure there are steep penalties for backing out of a game, home or away. But the likelihood of a conference opponent doing it is much lower

A publically funded university in Texas isn't issuing a press release about cutting off all athletic competition from another without the approval of the President and the Regents. Period. You won't see UT do it either.

Not scheduling them in football (which there's zero benefit in doing) is different than the University making a very public comment about telling another State University to go f&%# themselves.

Exactly. There's a big difference between canceling already scheduled games (which would be bold) and issuing a statement saying "hey, don't schedule tech."

I have no idea. I was just wondering out loud given all the noise conferences are making about not playing Tech in anything.

That may be on the money front. They'd also have to deal with TV, which has already slated the channel and time for that game.

The B12 can't boycott Tech. That's the biggest game of the year for basically every team in the B12. The media rights holders aren't going to let that happen.

I hope Tech never gets the opportunity to field their gambler. However, it's big bag of $#!t that ESPN and others are advertising gambling during the games. We also have The University of Arizona's football stadium being officially named Casino Del Sol Stadium.

Hey let's promote addictive products to college-aged kids and then act outraged when student athletes gamble.
