Elko

There's no guarantee this year's success translates to next year, but Elko breeds a whole helluva lot of confidence with how we've been able to face adversity and maintain focus so year. This speaks a lot to that and reminds me of some of Saban's interviews where he said some of the same things about being what players need in a given moment, whether it's intensity or calmness.

We shall see how it plays out, but good teams don't regress they reload. I think he is that kind of a coach and is building that kind of program, who knows of course, but that is what I see.

I also like hearing how his new deal includes incentive money for coordinators and staff so that they are invested in success here and that NIL was also involved. I know he's going to be rich but I've never heard one of these negotiations taking about investing in the program not just resetting the coaching market ceiling like what's happening with Kiffin.
Why didn't he negotiate these types of incentives for support personnel and assistants when he took the job? Also that 4 million dollar raise could have helped as well on NIL too. Again we got leveraged, just hope it works in our favor this go round.

We got leveraged? The guy is 10-0 in the SEC and was the 11th highest paid coach in the SEC. I'd say his first two years here were the best investment our program has made since we hired Jackie.
Does anyone not remember what happened after the 2020 season with Jimbo? Tell me what is different? I mean I love how we are playing but we didn't exactly play a murderer's row SEC schedule. We didn't even have to play the top 4 teams and it is debatable that we didn't even get the top 6 teams if you include Vanderbilt and Tennessee .

We don't have that kind of roster stacked up.
Yet.
Other teams put in 10+ draft picks each year like clockwork.
For us, this will be the first time in forever where we get anywhere close to that, let alone doing it in consecutive years.

The difference is in the modern era you can buy that kind of roster year to year. I am not saying this is great but that is the modern game. He has proven he can use the portal to make an instant impact, exhibit 1 is our WR corps.
