If you haven't listened yet, I highly recommend. This is one of the best ones I've listened to out of any Aggie coach.

My favorite part is him talking about what halftime was like. How he didn't get riled up like everyone expected but he says he had to stay calm when the players were panicking so he can settle them down. How he will get intense when they have no intensity. How his job at the end of the day is to keep a bunch of emotional 18-22 year olds settled down to play the game of football. How as a 48 year old man, he has to see things through a clear lense as to what's best for his players.

Talks about how the game is not won because of a halftime speech, but because of the culture that was created back in January.

There's more to it than that, but just a brief description of some of the stuff he was saying. Go give it a listen!

My favorite part was when he was talking about what he wanted to stay. Obviously the money helps, but he really emphasized being given the resources to build the program the way he wants, including all supporting staff.

As an added bonus from the presser, I'm feeling pretty confident about Moss playing against sip...

I love the culture he has brought to A&M. It's a hard contrast to the "Swagger" of the Sumlin years. Humility is never a word I have heard come out of our football program ever, but in this new era of college football, performance + humility may be the only way to make a dynasty work. I love it and I'm all in.

It's pretty solid of the administration to grant a new bonus structure for the playoffs for the assistants when you've basically already guaranteed you are going to make it versus having it kick into effect next season.

There's no guarantee this year's success translates to next year, but Elko breeds a whole helluva lot of confidence with how we've been able to face adversity and maintain focus so year. This speaks a lot to that and reminds me of some of Saban's interviews where he said some of the same things about being what players need in a given moment, whether it's intensity or calmness.

Yeah that is awesome. That's how you get good people to commit and stay. I doubt many, if any, asked for that, but I guarantee they appreciate it and feel taken care of. I sure as hell would.

Everybody always says they want a "fiery" coach, but Elko gets it. He's the 48 year old who has to direct the focus back where it should be and not get caught up in the emotions.

Not comparing Elko to Saban, but this is right out of his playbook. How many times did you see Saban chewing ass in blowouts, but staying calm and collected in tight games?

I also like hearing how his new deal includes incentive money for coordinators and staff so that they are invested in success here and that NIL was also involved. I know he's going to be rich but I've never heard one of these negotiations taking about investing in the program not just resetting the coaching market ceiling like what's happening with Kiffin.

Why didn't he negotiate these types of incentives for support personnel and assistants when he took the job? Also that 4 million dollar raise could have helped as well on NIL too. Again we got leveraged, just hope it works in our favor this go round.

We got leveraged? The guy is 10-0 in the SEC and was the 11th highest paid coach in the SEC. I'd say his first two years here were the best investment our program has made since we hired Jackie.

Does anyone not remember what happened after the 2020 season with Jimbo? Tell me what is different? I mean I love how we are playing but we didn't exactly play a murderer's row SEC schedule. We didn't even have to play the top 4 teams and it is debatable that we didn't even get the top 6 teams if you include Vanderbilt and Tennessee .

Oh don't let this fool you. There is PLENTY of nuclear level fire in / from Elko. There is a dead chair in a South Bend dumpster that is evidence of that.

This was for public consumption, I guarantee you ther was some yelling and F bombs at HT, briefly, then on to calm and adjustments. This game was SO FAR off the rails it called for calm and composure.

At Red Stick, as Marcel said regarding what Elko said at HT…. "It was aggressive, for sure!"…..

You're a glass half empty kinda guy aren't you?

Not that you don't have some legit points but cmon … 10-0. Beat the Domers at home . Recruiting looking great and the obvious potential if we ever put together 2 halves of great football . Elko could be the new Saban but with the incredible resources that we've been waiting to see unleashed for 50 years . This could be the one … or not . Only time will tell but if you let him get away and he succeeds mightily elsewhere … you look … well… hopeless. This does not feel like the Jimbo or Sumlin extensions … to me anyway.

And what is also important is that he is also taking care of one of the most important elements of any successful program, his assistants.

Your point is well taken. This FEELS different than Jimbo and Sumlin, who had early success then faded. But only time will tell if it's truly different. .

We haven't won anything of significance yet, but we do have our first 10-win season since 2012. That gives me hope that it's different this time.

There's obviously no guarantee that Elko won't fade like sumlin and Jimbo did. Just have to hope for the best.

That is 1000 times correct. No doubt if he wasn't fired I've always thought we would've won a national title.
